Everybody has his/her personal preference. I personally cannot even come to understand why someone would have Slipknot on that list, but alas that's just me.

When going for the most popular known band everybody probably has some liking to, the best Metal Band will be Iron Maiden. Period.

Dragonforce is by far my best choice up there, and it is one of my favourites, but staying within that genre it goes:

HIM
Children of Bodom
Trivium
Killswitch Engage
In Flames
Bleeding Through
...and some others.

Oh, and if you guys like Dragonforce because of Through the Fire and Flames, you should probably also look up Valley of the Damned and My Spirit Will Go On. A pair of fantastic and fast songs.

Have you heard of Sonata arctica or Nightwish?
I think that this two bands know how to play metal.

after hearing the butchering of Out In The Fields by SOnata Arctica im NEVER listining to anything from them again...

Then you are missing out on ALOT of good songs by sonata! Listen to anyting from the "Winterheart's Guild" album
