Can I have some more details please?

Is it files on the internet (in that case which type, and why did you post this in the modding section)?

Is it from a mod, therefore a .big file?

Because we don't know the answer, show me where you got the mod from and stop being petulent, it doesn't impress.

This is not a common file ending, I guess someone changed it to a costom name (e.g. it was new.txt and someone manually changed it to new.efw).
Here are 2 solutions:
1. Find out which file ending it originally had (.txt in my example) from the source of the file and change it back.
2. You can open it with an editor (text or hex), compare the patterns with known ones and guess the original ending.

After a bit of research, it appears that it is just a renamed archive. Change the extension back to .zip and it should open fine.

download it. Make sure file extensions are visible, if they aren't already (should be in tools>folder options, uncheck hide known file extensions). Then simple rename the file (right click>rename)
