Apart from being from the antipodes myself originally, so I still retain a modicum of national pride for old England, I so honestly believe that the SAS has a truly unmatched combat record, a distinguished history and an unmatched battlefield effectiveness. I only know enough about Delta Force to know that they're very secretive and very dangerous, but I don't think they have quite the record that the SAS has built for itself. The others I think do have a combat record, but it isn't quite on the order of the SAS's.

A world in which leaders respect the rights of their people, and nations seek peace, not destruction or domination. And neither we nor anyone else should live in fear ever again." - Wesley Clark

The SAS is widely thought of as the best, so I'm going to stick with that. They served as a model for the formation of:

United States - Delta Force
Hong Kong - Special Duties Unit
Indonesia - Kopassus
Malaysia - Grup Gerak Khas
Malaysia - Pasukan Gerakan Khas
Rhodesia - 'C' Squadron 22 SAS
Germany - GSG-9
Germany - Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK)
Israel - Sayeret Matkal

Well I'll hold my vote for now but I was going to vote for People's Liberation Army Special Operations Forces since they are Counter-Terrorism, Intelligence Gathering Operations, Land, Air and Sea deployable Special Operations. but seeing as it doesn't count I'd go for the SAS.(But I'll hold my vote for now)

But for SAS:I cannot agree more with what Rich19 said.

Delta Force hands down. They are selected from the Breen Berets and the elite Ranger divisions. They have the best training in the world and are the best equipped.

Joint Task Force 2 end of story.

Edit: I'm also insulted you forgot to include them in the poll.

SAS. Everyone else rushed to make their own ones "to beat the buggers at their own game".

However, as for the russians:

I'm for Delta Force. Just being secretive already makes them difficult to actually know that they're deployed or something. The US doesn't acknowledge the existence of Delta Force, nor denies the existence of Delta Force. (Kinda like a reference to the Dead 6/GDI of the Tiberium series)

I'm going with Delta Force, only because they took fewer causualties compared to the Rangers in the Battle of Mogadishu. other than that, I got nothing.

I always thought that was abit odd, considering pretty much all the world knows of Delta Force. And as for the Dead 6, that'd be a reference to Delta Force versus the other way around. =P

im gonna have to go with the SAS. despite being american and rather patriotic, my limited knowledge of special forces teams agrees with anyone who says the SAS has the best combat record. The only downside: SAS has no back flipping hatchet attacks, so they might be in trouble in certain situations ;)

I'm with Soul on this one. Finest soldiers Canada has to offer, well-trained, well-equipped, and from what little you can find on the internet they have a pretty good record.

But from the list, SAS all the way.

British SAS for the fact that when ever someone says Special forces, the first thing that would come to mind is SAS and Soap ;)
