As if they could bring every major provider into this, it's like denying what 99% of all customers want just to get more money, in one of the biggest businesses in the world. It's absolutely ridiculous. I have studied no economics whatsoever so if you might be able to counter my argument in here, then this world's economic system has really turned into the worst.. capitalism.

As if they could get away with this obscene cartel forming in in the face of the EU free market commissions. The Computer hardware/software world is being so closely looked at that any form of unfair action grants GIANT penalties... like the last one which wants to take away ten percent of intel's entire sales.

That for me confirms that the ISPs will never get this through. It's purely blackmailing the customer.

This spurs a question though. Is there a way to cut out ISP's from the internet by using a system similar to the way hamachi works but for servers?

Another thought also, If a move like this Is successful, which I highly doubt but all modding practices will have to amalgamate under one name to keep the general interest of modding alive. I hate the thought of just being a sheep that just consumes content ie. games and does nothing but play - finish and then move onto something else.

What I suspect will happen is that people will set up small 'free' ISPs underground, away from the big corporations that would otherwise compete them to death. There'll be two internets: the corporate internet and the free internet.

CodeCat brought up something I was considering earlier: A free internet away from the big corporate ISPs would be possible, and there would certainly be a market for it. But these "free internet" ISPs might set heavy prices at first, but I am certain that slowly, prices would drop with competition. As that happens, fewer users would use the large ISPs and the current internet would make a comeback.

That's what I see happening, and it won't be pretty in the process.

Capitalism will force things back to normal.

I heard this before if fact they planned on doing this here before but they never got it work it was easily circumvented and people simply didn't buy into it but now with more casual internet users there might be a basis for this and the music in the back grown is NIN(nine inch nails) from ghosts

The way I'd look at it, is that if all the others are going to limit access, and one ISP isn't, that ISP which maintains net neutrality would gain alot of customers.
