I stumbled across this little PDF book on a seemingly completely unrelated guitar forum. It's a collection of help and advice given by a member from another forum which has been collected and credited by another author.
It's a decent read even you don't have any problems with ladies (yes, it's mostly aimed at the guys but then most ES members are guys). That's not to say only guys should read it. I think it might be just as interesting for the female members here to look at.

Basically, it's an attempt to save all those guys out there who suffer from any kind of problem. Be it talking to the girl, asking her out... or even further along in the relationship.
By no means, is the the proverbial Bible of romance and relationships, and maybe some will disagree with it, but I think it's a worthwhile read.

It's not short though, but download, read and discuss.
