After watching episode one again and reading up to the current manga I have high hopes for a second series IF they stick to the direction of the manga.

Sadly, though, I can't see how they are going to pick up from the manga and continue it in the same vain as the original story without some rather huge plot holes. It will lead to some abrupt sequences to the start of the second series if they intend to marry the anime to the original story and forgo the previous ending.

Will they pull a Bobby out of Dallas on us?

I'm sticking to my opinion that the anime ending is a complete fucking mess that should never have been made. How the hell are they going to dig themselves out of this hole?

I'm pretty excited but I'm wondering if they're really going to release just one episode per volume because I don't want to spend +$779.99 USD for the entire series even if they have a shit load of extra content (I mean unless they come with gold-plated-fucking-swords in the DVD then fuck yea I'd buy them ). I just hope they bust out the same amount goods in a big box-set later on, which a normal human being would buy.

So earlier today I had an excellent idea of making an iClaymore music video featuring all the main characters of Claymore. Each character would get approximately up to two minutes of screentime while their song plays with their ipod-like image in the background. I'll likely need help picking a song for each character but I got some songs planned for some characters already.

These songs will not be restricted to a single music genre, I'd like this to vary as much as possible. If you would like to comment on the choice of others and/or assign a new song to character please do so. We'll also have to pick which parts of the songs will be displayed and such. Try to post a youtube or any other streaming link so we can listen to the song you want. Oh also we won't be playing multiple songs for each characters though we'll be picking the best for each one.

Alright I've managed to find some more information on the Artbox "Starter Set" and the Default DVD for the first Chapter. The first one has all the features I posted above:

Looks like it's going to be a side scroller -- this could be a good move or a cheap move. I have reservations for both - I dig the music that goes on that website though haha.


In other news, the new issue is due out sometime soon - or should I say is out but we still haven't had someone translate it yet. I've skimmed over a spoiler thread but made sure I didn't read anything solid (I couldn't help myself)

The game looks pretty awesome for a side scroller (that slash effect is just beautiful). Here's hoping it manages to be as great as the top tiers in the genre such as Castlevania and the old school Metroid games.

The voices aren't bad (for the main characters). Now they edited a lot of the speech, some lines are so absurdly different. Not too happy with the dub.

The dubs made me fall in love with Claymore all over again.

I'm not really pushed on Raki's voice, and I think a lot of people will agree with me here that it is a case of a director with a big ego who wants to be part of the show and not just an obscure name on the credits.

Aside from that, it has exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable.

This is the second time a bad translation has spoiled it for me. I'm beginning to think it might be a better idea to hold out for the official translations from Viz.
