Not Really.
I think they will ship to the US but they may charge a litte extra.
Also that one on Newegg has 3 gigs of memory compared to the 4gigs in the one I showed. Plus Blu-ray = futureproof.
Oh, sheesh, well, the last time I heard about the CAD compared to USD (which was just about a year ago, when the CAD was about 1.04 times more than the USD) the CAD was above the USD (and tons of people were ranting about how that was foreshadowing the depression of our economy).
Anyways, Vista can't support 4 gigs unless it is 64 bit, and I have no reason to believe that that is 64 bit, it will detect it as 3.5gb of memory. ANd I was just saying, in the case that you don't want blu-ray, the one from newegg is cheaper. Plus, newegg you get 3 day free shipping lol.
Anyways, your ASUS laptop you posted has a powerful GPU, far better than the ones that we have posted previously, however, it's also about a pound heavier than the Sony FW, and its screen is smaller. If you really want to play new games though, you probably will want a laptop like that, an HD3470 ain't exactly anything near high end lol, I mean, it'll keep up in older games like CnC generals, but newer games... it'll lag behind, especially on the 1600x900 res that the FW runs on.

Vaio is-
lighter
possibly cheaper
larger screen
possible blu-ray
Asus has-
heavier
possibly cheaper
smaller screen
much more power
vista probelmatic???
Hotter
Is that everything.
Weight isn't really a factor for me and unless heat is a huge problem, it seems like Asus is the way to go.
So if I gave you...idk $1300 USD

P.S. I found a deal on ebay for the Asus for 1450 with 2 200 gb 7200 rpm SATA hdd's and comes with a "free" case a wireless optical mouse? is that good?
Too many choices!!! GAH!!

For a gaming laptop the Asus is the only option, Sony doesn't really make gaming laptops (even their largest model, the AR, runs a pretty weak grpahics card (an 8600GT IIRC). Get the asus if your primary concern is gaming, the FW wins in watching movies (perfect 16:9 ratio, high res, high quality screen) and it can even use blu-ray, and is more mobile and stuff like that. To sum it up:
Asus: Better for gaming
Sony FW: Better at everything else and decent at gaming.

The price was some 1014 Euros and there wasn't nothing better in this price cathegory. My school mate has notebook from the same serie, but he has better version with price around 1265 Euros (better CPU, NVidia graphic card with 1GB and better GPU, blue-ray mech.). I hadn't more to spend on laptop.
BTW, Asus also makes the cheapest laptops (subnotebook EEE) from some 200 Euros. These are best on travelling or for little children.

(I'm making RA2YR mod, check Revora Forums for more info)

Also @ PotP long lasting would be something totally worth it because whenever I get one it will need to last me about 4ish years through college. But I'm leaning towards the Asus right now.
Also my family has an Eee pc actually because the school my dad works at is giving one to all the students in the their classes to use for the year and they are pretty neat little things.
Thanks for the overwhelming support you guys!

Yeh, my new Vaio SR has about 50 gbs of bloatware on it.... however, I do agree that hte screens are friggin awesome lol.
Anyways, if you are basicallyjust gonna use this laptop for gaming, I ask you to consider the lesser known brand called Sager, they are pretty much a dedicated gaming laptop builder. You might want to consider looking at this one: http://www.sagernote...d.php?pid=91133
