Yup, next race to be added is Chaos. I saw an article in PCG. Even with the return of my favoured faction I doubt i'll get it though.

A link would be wonderful, if you don't mind.

Technically the expansion is the Last Stand, which doesn't add any more races, just a game mode.

Although in relation to Chaos, here is the first bit of Relic PR

It only seems right that Chaos be added, though it does stir my interest and imagination as to how Chaos will be portrayed in DoW 2.

The last stand isn't an expansion, more free DLC. The expansion will add chaos. I did try and find a link, but couldn't. It was in my latest PCG under "World Exclusive" - one of the things shown was a bloodletter riding a juggernaught.

I can reveal some other details. You play as space marines in the campaign again, but its a bit more dynamic. You get a corruption meter. What does this do? Well i'm sure you can figure that out :P Also, Elphias will feature.

The corruption meter can make reference to preheresy times, and I would surmise that the more things you do that are closer to what a Chaos tainted Marine would do, the more Chaos like your army will become (obviously). Also, I'd imagine the cut scenes to hint at this progression towards the dark gods as well.

Sounds very promising, I like that idea.
And it adds replay value to the campaign aswell.

Sounds like they may add some nice tainted wargear in to which should please the fluff boys!!

That would be a very nice inclusion if Relic would do that. Instead of wargear, Chaos-esque abilities or auras would also suffice, as both tend to accompany those slipping to the power of the taint.

I somehow doubt it. Relic have trimmed back the fat (or fun, depending on your view) since DC & SS ie you get to do more with less, rather than less with more. Therefore I can't see them adding more than 1 race to the expansion as it wouldn't fit with what they've done this time. Also, given the extra missions (20 or so iirc), waregear (Chaos & SM), and abilities to go with the extra 10 experience levels that are being touted, they'll have their work cut out with just one Race. That is my own feeling however and hasn't been either rumoured or confirmed.

Judging by the non-descript Chaos symbol, that CSM looks to be Chaos Undivided, which might hint at the Black Legion, Word Bearers, or perhaps even the Iron Warriors). The dogs look to be a very recently tainted version of the Chaos Hounds, before they've swallowed by the jaws of Chaos.

Chaos would be from Black Legion, and in Boxart I see a Sorcerer, I missed him :D

If it is, (I hope not) then that would make sense, Cyrus is probably the least likely to turn Chaos.

It would certainly be interesting to kill him off. The fact that he's missing his head certainly indicates it's not a squad member

A very interesting idea to have a dread, however, either a good game dynamic (if done right but very against the fluff) or horribly wrong as Chaos Dreads are notoriously insane and probably wouldn't be controllable at all.

I am still thinking about Avitus, he is probably the first person to turn chaos, he just lives to kill as he believe thats what he is good for, so whats the difference of him from a chaos marine anyways, I'll feel a bit sorry for Cyrus if such thing happens though, he was a good character :D
Also, its not so important but if we able to keep online ranks from previous game, that would be good...

The dread looks well enough, though Wiz is right. You'll want to regard the CSM Dread with a modicum of caution as they tend to spaz out rather easily. If a Berzerk Chaos Dread is used carefully, the benefits are quite rewarding, but too often, the results are horrible on both sides. A psychotic Dread will, like Kharn the Betrayer, kill anything and everything around it.

Remember that the first expansion for DoW was a single race as well. IG may be added at a later date in another expansion pack (if another is coming, which I hope it is). If the IG are added in later, perhaps they'll be coupled with the Dark Eldar or Tau.

I think it will be most probably Tau and Necrons together with IG, but I just like Dark Eldar too much and hope for it to be done again, they are just too evil and gives a good feeling when they die, this not happens on chaos or other races, when Dark Eldar dies, it makes me feel like I am cleaning up something :D

First look in game vid. Piss poor view of some Bloodletters and a heavily armoured Chaos Termis/FC with Termi honours if I am not much mistaken.

Seems they're showing as little as possible, as they might want a majority of this expansion to be a surprise. Either that, or they're using this as a sales gimmick to get people to buy the expansion to find out what it holds in store for the player.

@Wiz: You could be right, or it could be a Chaos Chosen, as those chosen by Chaos are typically endowed with better wargear.
