Self-explanatory, I liked FFX (listen to the theme) and MGS OSTs (all of them).

IIRC, there's a thread like this one.
And my OST would be Ace Combat Zero OST. :D Quite awesome.

As for game soundtracks, I always liked the music in the Metal Gear games as well as SSBB's renditions of various classic Nintendo songs.

Ooh forgot Ace Combat! Remember the Megalith one from AC4/ the one from the last mission in AC5? I like all of them, but usually the ones in the last 2/3 missions are the best. Also good, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.

Unreal and Deus Ex, without a doubt. And of course the Klepacki-scored C&C games.

All C&C soundtracks, but Universe at War (also by Frank Klepacki), Emperor: Battle for Dune (also by Frank) and the HL2 soundtracks are also good :D

A few of my favourite (ripped :D) soundtracks:

-Unreal (the original)
-Red Alert 1 & 2
-Lost Eden
-All Hitman titles (Contracts best, Blood Money second best)
-Lord of Magic
-Quake 1
(just about all of Jesper Kyd's scores deserve a mention as well, btw)

I think we had this topic before, by the way.

And Fallout 3

Unreal Tournament
All of the Hitman soundtracks (with the Silent Assassin one being the best)
Freedom Fighters
Dawn of War
Call of Duty (ze original)
and the classic Battlefield theme (altough the MEC remix from BF2 aint bad)

All of these are what I found to be the best ones (ive heard) altough I have faith in Jesper Kyds abilities to produce damn good music (e.g Assassins Creed OST was made by him and it was good)

As OD said, there are a lot to choose from these days. I'm partial to more epic, cinematic scores; some of my favourite works come from James Hannigan and Jeremy Soule. Particularly Hannigan's soundtrack to Republic: The Revolution would probably have to take my top spot for its awesome beauty and powerful moments, mixing it up with tense tracks at the same time. Hannigan's contribution to the Freelancer soundtrack is good but very short. Conquest: Frontier Wars, also from Hannigan, is possibly the best space-oriented martial theme along with one of my other favourites, Soule's work for the Supreme Commander games, particularly the original. He composed excellent work for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic as well, creating distinct, wonderful themes that still fit perfectly in the Star Wars soundscape. (Wasn't so impressed by Mark Griskey's soundtrack for KotOR II, though, but I get the feeling my appreciation of it may have been tempered with my general feeling of underwhelming-ness about the whole game.)
Ace Comat 6: Fires of Liberation earns a special mention for its signature track, The Liberation of Gracemeria, which is possibly the most awesome single piece I can think of with its slow build, sweeping scape, and soaring theme. The rest of the OST is good but rarely if ever approaches this peak.
I'm eagerly awaiting the Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 soundtrack as well. Pure rock has never been my thing and while I can appreciate Frank's work is truly brilliant (I love Hell March along with everyone else) I rarely listen to the full game soundtrack because it's not really for me in most moods. From the large amount I've heard of the RA3 soundtrack on YouTube though, it seems diverse, driving, and a lot of fun.
*Continues shuffling through Windows Media Player list*
Jeff Van Dyke did some really good (and very substantial) music for Medieval II: Total War. Very, very appropriate to the game and one of the things which best lends it its truly epic feel.
Last honourable mentions go to Jesper Kyd for his somewhat eerie but strongly evocative work for Freedom Fighters (which a large number of people will come to be familiar with, though probably unknowingly, later this month), and Age of Empires III as MR.Kim has already mentioned.

(As a side note, a new millennium dawns!)

I have to check out AC6 song JB, I was pissed when I found out AC6 would be 360 exclusive... damn traitors... Anyway, forgot to put Xenosaga OST (forgot which one) some of the songs are great in my opinion, and others are truly epic.
