Doesn't look bad. Then again, most movies can't be judged from their trailers alone most of the time.

They look very different than from the Anime, but that's probably why the Movie was named Evolution!

Sorry, but I think it follows the same as Dragonballish Storyline (Green guy is OBVIOUSLY Evil Daddy Piccolo).

I hate it for three reasons:
-The main characters look NOTHING like their anime counterparts
-MOST anime-to-live action movies suck
-THEY ARE STILL FUCKING UP MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!!

If they wanted to keep it true to Dragon Ball, then they'd have 10 mins of action and 2 hours of talking or powering up.

Edit: Dear Lord, that CGI is awful.

Saw the trailer a few days ago. 2 main things I don't like about it:

1. Why set it in america, those tools.
2. Why didn't you they down the CG route. They could have had it in the style of FF: Advent Children, that way all things they have cut out of this film because they would just look retartded, would look all right. :P

It still has the potential to be a half-decent film... but only if you don't think of it as Dragonball, it just happens to have similarities. Like FF: The Spirits Within was a good film, as long as you don't think of it as Final Fantasy.

But unlike FF, DBZ has never been about much of a deep storyline, and that's what makes them outstanding (at least that's what I think...), so I doubt it stands much of a chance. Anyway, I say that the FFVII: AC approach would have worked, it would have been pretty damn good actually. I see an epic fail coming.....

And, btw, why is John Woo in it?

It has the potential, but Hollywood is making the film, so you know that it almost certainly means it's going to be another failed adaptation.

I saw The Spirits Within and just couldn't get over the fact that it failed to be Final Fantasy. The Spirits Within did do one thing right though: it was a cartoon (okay, a CG "toon", but a toon nonetheless). This Dragonball is using real life actors with CG effects. Just like the recent box office flop Speed Racer, I believe this film isn't going to wow massive audiences. I predict it'll hit #5 in America, but that may be a bit too optimistic.

Ergo Proxy is a movie in itself.

And FMA? Actually I think it has pretty good movie potential.

A live action adaption of the actual manga storyline would just be a disappointment. I'm gonna watch this with all my buddies and not take a minute of it seriously.
