I don't see how any of this was supposed to be tied to realism at all...

What about modified MBTs? Kwai Battlemaster, Laser Crusader, etc.

Or, three new general's MBT, seeing you are writing about MBT as of now.

I thought the purpose of writing unit profiles is to create a feeling that those units are real.

BTW, a suggest you write about Troop Crawler, Dragon Tank, or maybe Tomahawk vehicle.
