Hinduism worships a god who's name I do not remember off the top of my head. Simply, my question is this:
Brahmin (I think that's his name) is supposed to be the ONE god, right? And he takes the form of many other gods to control the universe-at least this is what I've been told, that he's like a shape-shifter). So, does that make Hinduism Monotheistic or Polytheistic (technically-speaking)?

It would be Monotheistic right? After all, it is still that one person taking different forms. However, one could also argue that it is not one person, but many people with one mind (like a hive conscience close to what the Borg have). You could also argue that Brahmin is just a collection of gods cooperating under the same name (like an organization). Another "explanation" could be that Brahmin is simply an overseer to many smaller demi-gods. And yet another is that he is ONE being with MANY consciences/personalities (in other words, a being with the opposite of a hive mind)

I know it all sounds kind of stupid/silly, but technically-speaking these are all viable arguments. What are your two-cents?

K, thanks, I knew I was close, but wasn't sure..... Although I wonder where I got Brahmin from?
