Courtesy of Planet Battlefield, I have a 'report' from IGN, which is short enough to put in its entirely below:

Quote

US, February 3, 2009 - Electronic Arts, while on its Q3 2009 financial earnings conference call, today announced that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will release sometime in the 2010 calendar year.

The original Battlefield: Bad Company released in mid-2008 to solid reviews and was the first game to use DICE's Frostbite engine.
Not exactly information-packed, but good to know nonetheless. If only they'd #^%ing well put it on the PC...

Not only that, but it'd also be really nice if they actually released a proper Battlefield 3 as well.

I have tried Bad Company and can only describe it as very different. There is very little to connect it with the previous Battlefield games. That said, it was quite enjoyable.

I hope it will be on PC too.
I have the PS3 version for the previous one and it's just hard to play...

The first game was like my favorite of all. I was forced to buy a 360 so I could play it. Glad they are making a second one.

I loved it. No other game has quite the same feel. Project Reality (a battlefield 2 mod) comes close however.

I didn't say it was bad, just different compared to other BF games. It felt alot more like a tarditional FPS though Gold Rush is always fun and there is a large number of weapons at your disposal as well.

Heck yes! Now that's what I wanted to hear. This is probably going to become Battlefield 3 for me, never mind Pacific...

Seems like Battlefield will conquer the multiplayer gaming world. Anyways, its nice to hear its available for PC, but still I will stick to the 360. Also this would give a modding advantage with the new engine.

I just hope they take up a more serious tone in this one as in BC the humor made you doubt what the war was about.

Hey JB, you look like BF series fan. Do you still play any of these?

I think the fact that the war was pointless was part of the humour, albeit of a more politically satirical flavour than most of the rest.

The only Battlefield game I actually own is Battlefield 2142, which I play(ed) quite a lot, though I always play BF2 with my friends when we hold get-togethers at local gaming centres, and also played Desert Combat for 1942 a few times, but not the base game. I just find the series both of interest to me personally because I really enjoy its gameplay style (some of my best computer gaming ever has been on BF2 with friends) and also quite major, and thus hopefully of interest to the forum community.

You should try Project Reality mod for BF2. Three years in row it gets a silver spanner on Moddb.

Those guys turned BF2 upside down, not just physics of the game are changed, but whole feeling...

But this isn't place for this kind of talk, I've run off-topic a little bit too far... :read:

I just hope BC2 will be easillymodable unlike its predecesors (which EA claims to have full modding support which is a lie) and a modding team like Project Reality devs

True. But I have feeling that they have stopped "developing" it.
