I'm involved in Battleships Forever, as always.. I've started drawing again and it struck me that it would be cool to make something of the simple graphics in the game.

I went from the idea that BSF graphics are actually a tactical readout seen by the commander (as said by the game creator) - if the ships are simplified representations of the actual vessels, this is what an Athena should look like!

I hope you like it. It's a pencil sketch mirrored and edited in Photoshop CS3, and then colored.

I think you wandered a bit far away from the reference picture, but I still like the overall design and and finish to it. The colour scheme is what takes it from great to hella-fucking-balls-to-the-wall-awesome.
