I am working on a project where I may well have to make an animated file. Now gifs are one option but they are frankly such poor quality that I'd rather ignore them. Can anyone if given .PNG files make a reasonable looking .MNG file and then make it play? Esp since the presentation will probably be made in powerpoint or open office present.

Export the PSD to imageready if you're using PS and the gif quality usually comes out top notch

I'm using idt gmeta a UNIX program which spits out ngcm files which are then turned to Postscripts which are sent to either pdf I dunno how I'll get the PNGs out but I'm doing my best to avoid Jpegs.

You can create an apng with this plugin for FireFox... but whether it works in Powerpoint, or any other presentation software, I'm not sure... but I know apng is supported in most modern browsers.

Sample of an apng that I made: Posted Image
