For all of you out there who enjoy using Steam (and I'm guessing that's a large proportion), I stumbled across this nifty little thing a little while ago, and found it rather fun. It basically takes your latest details from your Steam page, eg hours played/player ranking/last games played, etc. It then shoves them onto one of various types of images, updates it once every six hours onto the same image, and hey presto, one updating userbar later. The site is http://steamcard.com for anyone interested - there's about 20 different choices for style altogether. So go ahead, have a play, post any here if you want
On a side note, I tried to find one that would update according to your Steam status (similar to the Hamachi indicators atm) - while I have found about three different versions of this, none of them are capable of displaying a simple .png image without lacing it in .php code, which means the forums can't read it as the .png image it is. Anyone got any bright ideas as to how you can get around it? Images for it come out like this: http://steamprofile.com/steam/spimage.php?...561197978361527 - but i obviously can't display it as an actual image itself atm.

* Moved to game match making
To get around the image propblem, all you need to do is add a URL variable to the end, which containts an accepted image type... e.g. '&t=.jpg'

Bob, give me your address, I'm sending a gift of some sort!
Seriously, thanks a load mate, that'll be extremely helpful.
So then folks - to get your steam status in your signature, the way to go about it is as follows:
1) Go to your steam profile page and look at the address bar. Then, find the last set of letters or numbers after the letters 'id'- so in my case http://steamcommunity.com/id/AjPod
2) Go to http://steamprofile.com/index.php and type in the text you got from part 1, then hit submit.
3) Copy the forum code it presents you with after hitting submit, and hey presto. Take that code and add onto the end of the link provided: &t=.png
4) Paste into your signature and you're all sorted.
