Archon's Photo Archon 30 Mar 2009

Im going to remove windows xp and install windows vista in few days. So I want to know which is better for gaming vista 32-bit or 64-bit?
Can I run all games in 64?

I'd wait just a little longer for Windows 7, or if you don't want to wait that long, just wait for SP2. That should probably fix most compatibility issues you would have with the current build of Vista.

If you have 64 bit hardware then by all means go 64 bit. Make sure 64 bit drivers exist for all your hardware, though.

I'm running Win7 64 bit on a Toshiba Core2Duo laptop and a self-built Core2Quad desktop with no problems on each.

32 bit is better imo, Some games don't work on 64bit (RA3, C&C3 etc although they can but it's not recommended to use them on 64bit)

All of my games run perfectly on 64 bit. I have a lot of old and new games and I don't have any issues running them on Vista Ultimatex64. If you go 64 though, don't bother having over 4gb ram.

Edit: Just make sure you download the 64 bit version of drivers.

Windows 7 is better than XP and Vista in every possible way far as I'm concerned.

Get 7057 if you're gonna get it, from what I've heard it's got a few things over build 7000.

There is some messing with int X long int (or long int X long long int ... I don't remember now which one) where the lower one has the same size as the bigger one on the 64bit.

Also if you want go to newer windows, wait for Win7, it should be faster even than XP and better than Vista.
