The Brit corner.

Bristol is kind of out of the way though for us in Birmingham, and those even further north when we could all cut journey times and go somewhere halfway between everyone.
I would have thought Oxford perfect for that. If not somewhere a wee bit further north.

I will be going to Sussex to watch and play bar billiards, for the Gsy Vs. England and Sussex open, you should all come and watch

Birmingham will be a bugger for me, but is still on the verge of feasible. If anyone wants to help a poor student pay for the astonishingly expensive fare, please feel free to donate

I'll donate some wisdom, get a YP railcard and book in advance
Considering how I don't often use the train it's more expensive to buy the railcard and then get the discount. Oh, and you can't book returns in advance anymore as Ion and I found out last night, much to my annoyance.

I don't think i will be going, Birmingham is too far and i have insufficient funds
Rich19 01 May 2009
Get a student account with Natwest and you get a railcard free, IIRC.

Student railcard really is a godsend. I must have saved a few 100 with it.

I'm quite aware of that lad, so where-in my statement do you find stereotyping?
As long as this little get-together happens away from Leigh-on-Sea, I'm good to go.

Erm, all of it?
I wish there was a yank thread we could invade and deliberately misspell things like "colour" at them...
BeefJeRKy 03 May 2009
There is the Canadian thread though [/shameless advert]
Then again, colour is spelled as such in Canadian english I believe.

Actually yes. You see Rich, there's an old flame that lives there and I'd like very much not to be in the same area as her. Nothing against the rest of the Queen's subjects living there of course.
Who said I was invading? There are at the very least 3 fine blokes that would welcome me to England. Oh, and I do know how to spell "colour", "honour", "flavour", "tyres", and things of that nature.
Rich19 03 May 2009
BeefJeRKy 03 May 2009
Wait the brits spell it as tyres?
Oh and give him a pack of Bourbon biscuits

Hmm, Earl Grey I'll take, unless a good lady friend ( ) of mine wants it, and the chocolate digestives I'll save for when I need to prank a good mate. The Bourbon biscuits I'll take though.
Cheers mates!
