Created and run by Ion Cannon! Dawn of waaghh Wednesdays is the option for any budding Dawn of war players. We will be playing Dawn of War DC & SS.

Hamachi rooms
Server one - Dawn of Waagh1 - same pass
Server two - Dawn of Waagh2 - same pass

Start time 20:00 BST (UTC +1)

I will open the servers when I log on. So about 19.00 BST. Won't officially start till 20.00 though. All levels of player skill are accepted. There will be compstomps, assault maps (If people want them) and also team versus team games. However the emphasis is on having fun. Not keeping track of scores.

It's just very different compared to DOW and not as rewarding I've gathered from Ion.

See here - http://forum.cncrene...showtopic=31588 for my thoughts on DoW2. Dawn of War I is epic, over the top. Dawn of War II or as we prefer "Dawn of Scuffle" Has none of that epic feeling. Gone are the 30 ft demons. Gone are proper sized armies. Gone is most of the unit selection and gone is what made DoW great in the first place.

I hate IG. Their spam is to much. Plus coupled with all the bonuses guardsmen damage reaches 72!

That's why IG must be trampled early on. But surely such a loyal and prolific Chaos follower such as yourself should be able to defeat mere men.

Thats what I think is stupid. IG spam can defeat fully upgraded chaos space marines. Guardsmen damage shouldn't reach anywhere near 72. Neither should grenade launchers be so stupidly effective vs heavy infantry. Either way, hope to see as many of you as possible on the battlefield.

Oy just cause 'nade launchers can distrupt enemy attacks doesnt mean they are so effective. Besides to spam properly IG's you must reach at least mid game (which means early in the game they are screwed).

But then again I might decide to use the SM instead (SM forts are way more amusing)

I tend not to rush. Rushing bypasses the point of the game. I sometimes rush, but its alot more fun to build up to tech 3 and have huge battles against the other players utilising all your units. Then again if people play IG I will probaly rush them.

I would argue grenade launchers are too cheap. They disrupt infantry. Do fairly good damage to them, 2-3 hits will kill a space marine and have 45 range, which is 10 more than a heavy bolter.

IG is weakest race in game. You really need to know how to play with them.
