Curse you Doc! I was thinking the same thing.
Don't be surprised Pav3d, if you get a string of comments telling you to make a comic, either in that style, or based on that picture.

Heh, not likely tho
took long enough to do just that!
Some more texture experimenting, going for a submerged-in-water look

I like the idea and the overall look but i feel the quality of the texture image lets it down, it just seems a bit low res.

Looks good, a few points, tho:
The magazine doesn't look like that
.
The Lanyard retention point is a bit too thin.
The compensator looks a little long, but that could just be me.
The selector wouldn't have room to move.
The hammer looks like a skeleton variety, and isn't *quite* right. Something about it, I dunno.
All very minor points, otherwise it's an excellent model
EDIT: Also, the grips extrude from the body of the pistol, they're not, like, engraved
.

Thanks for the pointers Swimmer, There seemed to be an endless amount of backtracking
Here is an updated model (The grips are extruded, this will become more apparent when I texture it.)

The hammer still looks kinda weird, but TBH I'm comparing it more to my 92FS which I've shot many times, and not a 93r, which I've shot once at a show. It looks very good, though the grips are still a little off IMO. They extrude a LOT more IRL, more like 1911 grips, actually.

Or you could be a little less anal about them and just say he's made some great models 'based' on the Raffica

Me, not be uber critical? In all seriousness, I'm nitpicking like crazy: it is a great model

Well your nitpicking paid off, i noticed a lot of things that needed correcting.
Anyways, here tis finished:

Complete with bump n specular maps.
