For a long time now, most of the focus on Fallout Studios has been with the modding of games, and particularly those in the C&C series. We have separate modding forums for those games, and they are very popular. However, modding is very similar to writing your own game, so why not have both? To help with Fallout Studios' creative side, we are putting the focus more on development, and have added a new concept with its own forum: independent game development. A completely new category named 'Development' has been created, housing not only the existing Game modding and Code block forums, but also a brand-new Game development forum, which will serve as a resource point, help centre and work showroom for anyone interested in developing their own game.

The final move was triggered by it, but the idea of providing better support for indie game development has been lingering around for a while now.
