Public servers could certainly be fun - we just need to find a nice, relatively quiet one. Personally I'd go with Wake Island, as it tends to take a long time to complete and allows for some awesome tactics.

As for Wake. Well if I can take out a jet with a sniper rifle on that map (dont ask how) I got no prob with it

Speaking about Wake, you're bloody lucky I tore apart my joystick... Just imagine horrors I did there. But, TBH, That was the only thing I was good at in vanilla, I sucked in tanks, I sucked in infantry... almost everywhere.

I think we have enough people to play through hamachi tbh.

I suggest screwing inf only, if I wanted to play CSS I would go and play CSS Plus it becomes a sniper/claymore/nade spam fest
And I suggest doing the favourite maps: Karkand, Gulf of Oman and the something Penninsula

I'm going to buy BF2 just for this.

Also we are having Vehicles turned on, but remember we are having a friendly game so don't get over competitive (What a waste of a sentence ).

I wouldn't mind having a few inf only rounds, but most of the suggestions so far sound okay.

To be fair, to all of those suggesting inf only - don't forget that you are playing with friends, like minded-individuals who just want to have fun - we don't give a monkeys about how many points we get as long as we all have fun. Vehicles = fun, and there won't be any stupid pros whoring them etc.

See how it goes. Karkand in particular gets rather vehicle whorish if USA gets stuck with no flags. But it would be better to at least start with vehicles and only turn them off if necessary (this ought not to be necessary).

And why not do both inf and vehicle versions. Frankly Karkand and Sharqi suck with vehicles (especially Sharqi since those damn choppers take out tanks outside the visual range with those damn TV rockets)
