IIRC the 16 player Sharqi map doesn't have helicopters anyway.

If say hypothetically someone should not have a legit copy of it, it wouldnt matter since we would be playing over hamachi anyway. Hypothetically ofc
And hypothetically, hypotheticals are flimsy little buggers

And why not do both inf and vehicle versions. Frankly Karkand and Sharqi suck with vehicles (especially Sharqi since those damn choppers take out tanks outside the visual range with those damn TV rockets)

Tbh, BF2 is as much about the vehicles as it is about the infantry - and I for one would not like to be playing no inf from the off. And tbh, there are probably very few of us who know how to take down a tank in one hit with a TV rocket. That is if they know what the TV rocket is (does not). As Mika said:
Relax - take it easy

The TV rocket can one hit anything, I love using those, sniping other choppers out of the sky

If you want inf only, C4 or rocket everything vehicle in sight

I love TVing other helis, and even managed to get a jet with one once. That gave the blasted J10 something to think about!

No choppahs? *Mopes off in the opposite direction*
Nah, tbh it will be fun to play against other FS guys, and the choppahs are just an added bonus that I can play with anytime in SP anyways. Frankly, I just love this game

We're using the latest patch, 1.41. I know, because I'm currently stuck here downloading the patch. D:
EDIT: Apparently there's a new beta patch 1.5.

Anybody care to send me a 1.41 copy of AIDefault.ai? I managed to accidentally delete my backup and I use a changed version of it to get more bots in SP.

Right, time has been set provisionally to 18th June at 7:00pm UTC +1 (UK time). I am sorry for those that this may exclude, but it seems only fair that we don't bite into other gamedays. If you have any other, better dates, please let me know!

So..what time is that GMT?
'Cause if it's 7:00 or 6:00 GMT then it'll be the same as TF2 Tuesday, too early for me to make it.

That is 8:00pm GMT, but as every other timezone changes around it, that is essentially 7:00pm in the UK.
I have also updated the Steam group so it will tell you what time that is for you guys.

Though my question is are we going TF2 style (on some random server) or hamachi (Pav3d will understand my what I got against Hamachi...or the other way around)

We could do both I guess, I found an empty *bleep*ed server within minutes when we tried it out

I preffer hamachi, because I get horrible lag over "normal" internet, but not over Hamachi.

Hamachi would probably be better considering the game. (Following on that idea, I hear you can do Hamachi over Source, we'll have to investigate).
