GLA Stalker Tank

Ok, so it isn't a Mobile Scud Storm. But this tank has plenty of missiles to go around, especially when you get it up to full salvage:

This is the new Stalker Tank for the Stealth General, at standard level on the left, and fully salvaged on the right. This tank can salvage eight additional missiles, giving it a grand total of sixteen when fully salvages. In addition, it is equipped with a small mortar turret, which can shoot targets in front of the tank.

These missiles have tracking capabilities, and can shoot down aerial targets.

If you are stuck reloading, you can simply crush your enemies tanks beneath its treads. Always great to have a plan B. It doesn't come with stealth, but you can always GPS Scramble the tank.

One of the special features of the Stalker is its method of turning:

This tank turns by rotating its treads to the left or right, much like a normal street car's steering. This allows for an increased straight line speed, allowing this tank to perform hit-and-run to some degree, or drive over an incoming tank column. It's not as fast as a rocket buggy, but it can outrun certain MBT's.

As with all Super Units, the stalker Tank costs $3000 and has a build limit of one.

They are miniaturized Scud Missiles, with a homing ability. Not sure whether or not to allow them to hit air targets.

The way the missile pods are attached to the tank makes it impossible to aim upside, so it wouldn't be logical to have able to take out planes...

Unless those are mini SA-2s... It looks...funny. 8| Though it gives an impression of being able to slide across the battlefield quickly.

Just showing off the steering. It cannot turn in place like a normal tank, or go in reverse.

It's fun to watch as it shoots missile after missile at a tank, as it gets propelled into the air by the shockwaves from each explosion.

This is just me screwing around on my test map, against a lot of USA enemies. I kinda got overwhelmed by the sheer number of Tomahawks against me, both missile and catapult variants. Gattling Nuke Cannons are seriously effective when you micromanage them, and the Stalker tank is very good at repelling tanks that attack. The Leviathan needs to be a little better though, it isn't quite as super as the other units.

And all the while, Banana Phone was playing in the background, thanks to General Fai.

I think I'll get rid of the anti-air ability of the Stalker, it is just too much of an all-rounder with it. It kinda kills everything when fully upgraded.

Hm, not sure. It has an odd movement style, that's for sure. It isn't THAT fast though, because Pancake Crusaders can keep up with it.

Mmm...interesting. Sounds like if you micro this guy well enough he can send eight tanks flying in quick sucession. The Stalker versus The Fan Truck...hmm.

Each missile only knocks a tank a couple feet off of the ground. You need to pummel a tank with three or four to send it flying away, but it doesn't even come close to the Fan Truck's ability to send a Paladin across Twilight Flame.

Somehow you've made it sound scary 8| I wonder if the missile SFX is stock. If it went 'bonk', 'splat', 'splooch' or something it'll sound epic :sly:

It's normal for now. I've left the crazy sound effects for the Pancake Crusader and Propaganda Truck.

Maybe I should make a vehicle play "rubber biscuit" by the Blues Brothers.

Many of the units in this mod really are down right crazy, but this one is a frightful sight. Large enough that it can crush tanks and can carry up to 16 mini-SCUD's, plus the twin mortars on the front... 8|

The tread design is awesome. How do you code that? I was trying to have it turn like that in my mod but I couldn't really find out.

Actually it should be possible. The original model was designed to have Anti-Air capability. But I'm not sure if that works with the extra missiles Jordan has added.

It can pitch up and down, but I figured it might make it too powerful, so I removed the anti-air ability.

I made the treads turn by having the treads act like wheels, so they turn left and right in the corners. Just set the tire rotation multiplier to zero so they don't spin like crazy. Also, you have to flip the pivots of the back "wheels" upside down, so they turn in the opposite direction.

What? I fixed those. I don't know why the missiles on the top are upside down though.

I was talking about the small white bit below the radar dish, that was still white.
