USA Crusader Multi-Barrel Upgrade

The multi-barrel upgrade allows you to double the firepower of any Crusader tank on the field for the cost of $150. However, at an additional $150 per barrel, you can upgrade the tank with up to six additional barrels:

So, for another $900 in upgrades, you get seven times the firepower of a normal Crusader tank. Not too bad of a deal right?

Is the crusader's firing speed changed or not? And that tank reminds me of an image macro.

will they lost veterancy when upgraded?
looking at shockwave's scorpion weapon they just can be upgraded maximum 4 times.

I'm trying to make it spawn a crate when it is replaced, so it would get the veterancy back.

Out of sheer curiosity, why would a unit lose veterancy when upgraded like this Crusader?

I made it a long time ago. I just played around with the details of the turret to make extra holders for barrels. But the real time-consuming part came when I had to make five other versions of it.

nice work Jordan :P, too bad the barrels get asymmetrical after 5 barrels though, I somehow dig for symmetry :)

This is rather disappointing, but you're not to blame Jordan (the limited SAGE engine is).

Perhaps you can salvage this though, but instead of having an upgrade that's for a single barrel, couldn't you make an upgrade that gives it 6 more barrels in one go? For $1000, the player could have a 7 barreled Crusader (and possibly bug free). Or, you could give the tank GLA logic and have it pick up salvage crates.

Or have an 'add barrel' upgrade which adds a barrel with every upgrade?

For what it's worth, I wouldn't mind the veterancy loss. Seeing as how it'd just get more powerful anyway. In fact, I think it could be seen as a sort of trade off for an overall strength increase.

But I guess it'd depend on the strength of a 'Sergeant' (Forgive me for not knowing the ingame name for it) Crusader compared to it's next cannon level.

i agry with HHKelevra, it would be no problem for me. and most ppl will probably buy the upgrades just after they build the crusader, not in midst of the fight.

maybe make it a player upgrade instead upgrading from each crusader??

Over how many steps can the GLA salvage logic be applied? If it's more than three, an upgrade to spawn a salvage crate on the Crusader could work multiple times over.

If not, is it possible to apply salvage logic to the max number of times, and the last time salvage sees a new unit spawned with 4 cannons, which in turn can be salvaged?

how about applying random vehicle logic :P, this would mean more barrels wouldn't be stronger, but it just looks funny to have crusaders with different amounts of turrets :)

Make it an upgrade to the war factory so it produces extra barelled tanks instead, perhaps?

yeh that should work too ;), making each upgrade change the commandset with a crusader with one more barrel and a new upgrade for the next one |8

Or even have the "buy crusader" button a second menu screen (like the fake buildings one on the GLA worker) where you pick how many barrels you want to buy on your tank.
