Hamachi 2.0

Yup, that's right, Hamachi 2.0 is here, sprung on us by LogMeIn, who seem to have massively expanded over the last few weeks...
It looks REAL purty, and apparently there's a huge pile of new little features in it. One very handy one is the ability to register with LogMeIn and to then save your networks to that user, which means you'll never lose a network again. There are also some new types of networks, but if you're creating a new one I'd still go with mesh for gaming, unless you want to set up a new business, in which case use one of the other ones
However, there is the issue that the servers are totally swamped at the moment, so connecting may not go down too well for a little while.
Should you wish to join a new Mesh network however, there's one that I did manage to make before the connection got swarmed:
Hamachi 2.0
NO PASSWORD
Honestly, all I can hope to come of this is that the number of players per server goes up, and that the connection speeds improve considerably!

Downloaded it as well - though the looks are different I don't know about any speed improvements yet; I hope those are included as well .

Has this actually increased connection and gameplay quality or just a shiney UI update?

Well Erik and I tried a quick ShW 1v1 and it didn't seem any faster, but that in turn may be down to all the servers having a rough time. Honestly, I doubt the service is much better, most of the stuff seems the same with a new shiny cover on it. Nonetheless, an improvement, just maybe not the one we were looking for.

how come the newer versions of hamachi removed the messages where it told you if you couldnt join a network due to a wrong password, or if it was simply due to typing the network name wrong?
hopefully the newer version will be able to handle multiple players more efficiently, though i doubt that it will improve speed for 1v1s since 1v1s mostly depend on the internet speeds+location of each user

That's an odd bug - I found that after restarting Hamachi after an install those messages should start popping up. As to the connections, I would bet it doesn't make a huge difference, but we can all hope and pray. And perhaps try it out at some point.

Also it seems sometimes your networks randomly dissapear and you got to restart to fix it.
