I figure with the abundance of China's strange new approach to Gatling weaponry, they should strive to bring their weaponry to the backbone of their army - infantry.
(Possibly a minigunner upgrade) A Chinese Red Guard carrying a scaled down Lead Beam cannon on his back. Problem is, it's so heavy, that he's forced to crawl with it, making him one of the slowest infantry units. In addition, the gun's weight makes it impossible to aim upwards at air units. However, the power of the gun itself (being slightly less than the Lead Beam) more than makes up for his lack of speed or use against aircraft.

I wonder if a recoil effect can be applied to him when he fires =/

woo that sounds awesome, question: how to code it?

Where did I also heard that?
On-topic: I really like this idea, but is it programmable?

well, if you edit the recoil amount of the weapon, make the unit have less mass, and make it fire fast enough then it may well work.

The problem is the part where you need to actually propel the unit behind. Not sure how well would OCL'ing a shockwave creating object in front work.

I could try it but Im not sure how it will affect the rest of the mod, last time I did something peculiar to it, it stopped working.

nah it would be either OP or useless,
think of it:
if its just as strong as the lead bean but alot hceaper it is OP.
if its a little weaker but also a little cheaper no1 would buy it since the lead beam is enough.
and if its weak and cheap(lets say double minigunner) ppl would but gatt tanks/ minigunners for more cost effectiveness.
and i highly doubt the codign of the recoil is possible since units arnt effected by their own shockwave.
but just think either the recoil must be just as slow as the unit wich kindamakes it useless as the unit would only need a second after it can shoot a second,(most targets would be dead) or the recoil should be faster then the unit then everyone(or at least me) would send it to places by letting it shoot the opposite direction.
and anopther recoil problem, if you'd send the unit to a building or something and you stop watching it.
it would fire a single bullet recoil crawl forward and shoot ONE bullet again, since units never walk/drive any further once there target is in the max range.
