With correct scaling you remove all units from hbar and c. lets Einsteins E=mc^2 reduce to E=m which is what we use for particle accelerators

I do use both systems, well in fact i use 3 or 4 depending on my modules.
Imperial for talking to family;
Metric for peers and basic dynamics (mechanics)
Natural units for HEP group (high energy physics)
Astro units for strangly astro people, such as parsec or one of my favourites Megaparsec per (kilometre pre second).
If you can figure out the last one i'll accusse you of physics
