I think deleting pages outright is overboard though, when you can just leave them there until someone finds a good link to them. That's how most other wikis work as well.

It sends the wrong message about the wiki, we have always been hot on people not making their own page since there is no guarantee of a link, if we allow pages to collect dust then anyone can just add their page and be in the category of "waiting for a link".
