If I am not misstaken, it slowed you down at first, but then valve realised it wasn't such a good idea and removed it.

I love the Sword & Shield, it adds a whole need dimension on how to play the class :P

At least it isn't just a sticky launcher with slightly different stats (EG: FAN, Natasha, Amba).

anyone know the name of the artist drawing the strips? his style looks VERY familiar, i'm sure i've seen it before in some big strip release.

Well you can still use the all original load-out (like i do for Spy, Sniper and Scout), it just opens up new play styles for the Demoman and creates a whole new vibe and gets new people interested in the class.

And it's always 100% certain that every Demoman on the entire team will have switched to the Chargin Targe and Eyelander instead of the standard loadout. /sarcasm

Personally I like that these two weapons hail back to the Demo's heritage. It adds to his lore (not that lore is important to the game, but it does add a certain cool factor). It'll be a bit frightening to see a standard Demo and a CC oriented Demo charging, one laying stickies in defense to prevent a complete line collapse, and one spear-pointing the offensive, dismembering heads. It'll be quite a sight indeed.

I looked at the source code for all the new pages. I did not see any hidden links however I could very well have missed it.

Has anyone noticed that the map behind the Soldier is one not in TF2 currently?

Oh yeah, and the 2 is lit up even though there is no second weapon.

The 2 being lit up is odd - for the Demo update they preserved the whole image, then did an overlay image for the numbers, and then whacked another one on lower down. On this one, they've done an overlap for the lit number one, and then changed the entire BG image to light up 1 + 2. I am assuming a Valve Boo-Boo again.

I'm liking the Soldier update and the new weapon. Personally I feel the Direct Hit will make the Soldier a heavier "sniper" of sorts, if the rockets move as fast as claimed. Having to predict where targets will be can get kind of old after a while, so being able to point, click, and have the rocket hit the person targeted will be very nice. Then again, I get the strange feeling I'm the only one to feel this way. :P

I love the new rocket launcher's stats, especially as I'm always getting direct hits when I use the normal launcher :P

That's why you go proper Pyro and use the standard Flamethrower. :P

@ Destiny: The important difference here (besides the fact that this soldier isn't GLA and isn't in ShW), being that the Direct Hit rocket has the same level flight that the standard Rocket Launcher has and doesn't have an arced trajectory.

I know Nooka, I was just playing around with the name :P I really begin to wonder if Soldiers will follow Snipers to the sniper decks to shoot at people on 2fort. :D

Seems to me that the new RL will be a very potent sentry killer. Perhaps even moreso than the demo's stickies.
