Damn, I'm excited for this one, i loved the first game as it was an awesome blend of everything a Batman game should be.

Here is the "teaser" trailer.

I'm thinking this will be out next year around Q4 or 2011 Q1.

Anyone else looking forward to this?

I think i should probably play the first one before i think about the second :P
Unless of course there isn't a recurring story then i might just buy the second one..

Sounds a little pointless, you don't hear any rave reviews about the first one, so I'm surprised they think they can get away with a second one too, seems a bit like beating a reasonably-dead cash camel.

It got decent reviews across the board, 90+

When the price halved for a day I was tempted to buy it, but I wasn't sure I would get much hours from it.

Decent reviews, yes, rave reviews, no. Most sequels tend to cash in on an initial game that is really rather epic, yet, the first game in this series seemed good, but only good.

Unless they intoduce MP in order to prolong the lifespan of this game I can't see me being interested in parting with any cash for it.

It's honestly one of my favorite games of all time. Just because it's not the over-hyped rave fest that some games are treated to, it doesn't mean it's not one of the best games of the year and probably the best superhero game ever.
And the whole add multiplayer onto a game to prolong lifespan is just silly, games with awesome story and gameplay don't come along often and they certainly don't need a clunky multiplayer chucked on the side, it just clutters the experience.

By the way, i brought it day one for the full price (PC) and i didn't regret it, something i haven't done with a game in a long time.

What doc said ^

I bought it with in a few days of release for the PS3, easily one of my favourite games ever. In fact, ignited a new passion for Batman (for me)... I've never been a huge fan of any particular (super) heroes... not that I hated them though. The story was extremely well told in the game with amazing gameplay.

It may be rather soon to be thinking about a sequel, but; 1. It's not being released till end of next year/start of 2011 which means it will have been at least a year since the original, granted that might be a huge time scale in comparison to other big block buster games, but 2. The first game was so good there probably won't be much to actually improve on gameplay-wise. "So why create a sequel" I hear you cry... well for the simple fact, Arkham Asylum is about telling a story, gameplay takes a back seat.

The first was one of the best reviewed games of the year and raved would be an understatement. I'm looking forward to the first and take comfort in the fact that the second still has at least a year of development time ahead of it.

Left 4 Dead 2 was released about a year after the first, and so far it's been mostly positive. Why can't the same be assumed for this game? Arkham Asylum was an awesome game, probably my favorite free roam game following Assassin's Creed 2 this year.
