Prologue

-December 25th back at the MOF HQ, England

“99 Red Balloons floating by the summer sky […]”

“Turn that shit off man or get a headset Nero!” Joker yelled frustrated, the two of them had been arguing over what weapon they should get in case they would have to back up the team or if they got shot down.
“Firstly it’s a Christmas gift and it’s not shit it’s Nena and I can have a Kalashnikov if I want to, Caboose gave me his!” He argued back.
“It won’t fit in the fucking helicopter cockpit you’ll have to get a SMG like Steiner did, why don’t you take his MP5? I heard he’s upgrading…”

“Panic hits it’s red alert something here from somewhere else[…]” Nero paused the stereo; “Oh what’s he getting?”
“I think he’s getting a sub-machine gun that Caboose is moding for him.”
“Can I have an M14 then? I always wanted one.”
“NO!”
“Why not?”
“Same fucking reason, IT WON’T FIT IN THE COCKPIT”

In the next room Caboose, Steiner, Brookfield, Garson and Nichole were discussing other issues and talking a bit about their newly acquired pilots. “Mike why the fuck did you hand him that AK47 man?” Steiner pleaded.
“Well I wanted to give him a Christmas present, by the way we didn’t get anything for Andrew…”
“What, you don’t think a multi-million dollar attack helicopter, £250,000 a year and a million USD per mission isn’t good enough?”
“Well they both got that, from Santa… and by Santa I mean William, I think, you never know. You know what I think Santa likes us, we get really awesome gifts!” He replied looking at his new torque bow. (also from Santa)
“You’re messed up, you know that?”
“That’s why I love him.” Nichole replied giving him a tender hug. “Merry Christmas hun.” She said handing him a large and heavy looking package that Garson had to help her pass along.
“Besides Carl, that’s called a salary we all get that, well except we have bigger bonuses for completed mission.” Garson answered as Caboose unwrapped a new rifle; a Harris Gunworks M-96, far more reliable and solid than his previous rifle, which was a good thing, considering what Caboose did with his weapons.
Nichole got assorted Jewellery, gilded books and clothes (probably from most of the team as it looked like they cost more than Caboose’s annual salary and they all got hugs accordingly).
Steiner was given a spanking new UMP-45, modified to fire more rapidly and accurately with a variety of sights, ammunition and a silencer kit.
Garson got the newest model Corvette, imported from The States as he tended to complain that; ‘Its one thing to drive on the wrong side of the road but the right sided driver seat thing is just ridiculous!’
Brookfield was harder to shop for on the other hand, he was more quiet than the rest of the team so the first thought was to get him a new machinegun. Both his M249 and MG-42 were getting a tad worn out like Caboose’s venerable LSRW .50 cal rifle, so they picked up a new German made Heckler and Koch MG-4 for him, mind you they wanted to get him more things but he pretty much spent all his income on things he wanted. Next year they’d have to ask for a gift list… Harrison entered the building and walked towards Nero and Joker with 6 packages and interrupted their conversation; “ok guys I’m sure whatever this was is something really important but I got some gear for you from the rest of the team, Lewis drop the AK it’s not going to fit in the chopper and it’s a bad Chinese knock off anyways, Mike’s been trying to get rid of it for ages…”
“That fucker!” He replied with some frustration in his voice.
“Anyways you guys need kit, so I picked up a pair of ACR Carbines with folding stocks, silencers and holographic sights. Merry Christmas from Caboose who worked his ass off to get those customized, the AK and whatever CD he got for you was probably a joke anyways. Next we got you guys custom MOF flight uniforms with call-sign nametags, BDUs and webbing so merry Christmas from the rest of the team. The Hind has been modified to fire incendiary and explosive rounds for the forward cannon, just for you Lewis. Now I have to go check on the other children.” Harrison said walking into the next room. Upon seeing that most of the team were looking at new guns and how Caboose was trying to force his custom ammo in the new weapon with the rest of the team was backing away slowly, Harrison just kept going to grab a stiff drink.

Chapter 1

The ‘red phone’ started to ring, it was their mission phone it had a location ID, informing the team where the caller was from, so they could determine how to answer, or rather who should answer. For example if it didn’t come from the English speaking world generally Caboose or Nichole would pick up, if not the usual arguments about who was less busy would be sent back and forth as most families tended to do at home when they didn’t want to be bothered. Both Joker and Nero where on X-Box live playing Modern Warfare 2 on two separate consoles and TVs, Nichole was reading War and Peace and the rest of the team was out except for Brookfield and Caboose who were watching Star Trek XI for the millionth time or so, making them the leading candidates to answer the phone.

“Answer the phone already you guys! I’m getting distracted!” Joker yelled some player named InfectedLemming had just stuck him with a semtex grenade ending a kill streak of 6.
“It’s James’s turn.” Caboose answered
“Sod off you wanker, what if they’re from Brazil or something? That makes it your turn!” The Brit answered.
“Well if that is the case, it is come and get me, then I’ll pick up, this is my favourite part of the movie!” Was the reply from the sniper.
“You guys know you can pause the movie right?” Nero suggested, he had just gotten an AC-130 and was going nuts on the opposite team.

After short deliberations and threats from everyone Brookfield was ‘volunteered’, he paused the movie, got up and checked the phone. It was from Texas; ‘great’ he muttered “James Brookfield MOF how can I help you today, we offer a wide range of services; hostage rescue, elimination of hostiles, retrieval of items of interest and big explosions. To whom am I speaking with and which service are you looking for.”
“That’s a nice speech boy, loving the French accent but its night time already! You boys must have long hours; I hope you’re paid well for them!” Came the reply from the person from the end of the other line, earning a muttered ‘Jesus H. Christ’ from the former SAS corporal. “I’m just kidding, I know you’re British, I’m major general Howard, US Marine Corps and I suppose we need an elimination/retrieval/big explosion job, you do all three right?”
“Yeah, well the big explosions happen one way or another; however I need an American flag officer confirmation ID code before we can continue sir.” Brookfield replied.
“Right, MOF mission request ID code, D23490804S-A” The general answered.
“One moment please sir… Confirmed, do you want to discuss the job over the phone or in person, do you want us to bring our attack helicopter and pilots or do you just need our team?”
“Just the team and it might be better to discuss this in person, it’s a sensitive mission, when can you get here?”
“In the next 20 hours or so, is that alright?”
“That’s fine see you soon boy!” Then he hung up.
‘Fucking yanks’

The team gathered and the mission request was faxed, Harrison looked over the contract; “Standard government fee 20 million USD, 10 mil upfront regardless of outcome, possible bonus of 15 million at the discretion of the US government and 5 mil per member we bring along, negotiable. Not bad huh?”
“God I love working for the Americans they just toss money on your lap and they give huge tips and ask ‘do you think this is enough sir?’ I say we hold out for more.” Caboose suggested.
“Don’t be a dick man.” Steiner urged
“I’m worried, that 15 mil bonus is not normal and the fact that it’s negotiable isn’t either.” Harrison commented. “But we’re taking it anyways, Steiner, get our G-5 fuelled up and ready to go. The rest of you load our gear in the deuce and a half outside and get it to the plane. I’m going to tell our two flyboys they aren’t needed for this one.”

“Meh” Nero answered to the news. Joker wasn’t overly concerned either, he did look a tad dejected that he wasn’t going to be able to test his ACR or the upgraded Hind this time around.
“Well you can’t fly the Hind around, but you can go to the firing range on base, get used to the weapons and all that. We have an agreement with the British Government to work out of here anyways. And the base CO likes us enough to let us use the firing range whenever we want, just make sure you wear the MOF BDUs to move around and those pilot wings so they know you guys aren’t troopers. You know just in case you suck and give us a bad rep.”
“Sounds good, but don’t worry we aren’t horrible shots you know!” Joker spoke up.
Yeah, I think he just marksman V for the ACR on COD MW2!” Nero replied.
“Christ.” Harrison replied rolling his eyes. “One more thing, no parties in the HQ/Flat while we’re away, well maybe a small party, but nothing crazy, some of us kill when our things get fucked up” glancing at Caboose who was loading up various sights and ammunition boxes in carrying cases. He conceded looking at the long faces of the two pilots.

Two hours later they were in the air with Steiner and Caboose in the cockpit of the luxury jet stipulating what the US military had lost and why they would kill over it. In the rear of the plane the same conversation was going on, whatever it was they decided it would certainly be interesting. Upon touching down on a military airfield they were greeted by general Howard, 3 marine colonels and five HUMVEEs pulled up along with a truck to carry their equipment. The team had already changed in their BDUs as they began to load their kit in the truck as Caboose gave a very angry glare at the Marine who took his rifle to load it with the rest of the weapons.
“Man I hate mercenaries, just a bunch of drop out soldiers that’s what they are.” One of the soldiers said once the team had piled into the vehicles.
“Don’t fucking repeat that ever again, these guys are all ex-special forces and are treated as an elite team by pretty much every government in the world. That sniper fucks people up if they mishandle his rifle with impunity and that almost was you sergeant.” A lieutenant warned; “You two get in the truck and follow that convoy I’m getting in back to watch this kit personally.”
“Who are these guys? They get a general, three colonels to meet them personally after they get off a 40 million dollar plane, a Lt. who’s scared shitless of them to watch their stuff and a 2 HUMVEE escort in the rear 3 up front with mounted .50 cals and a squad of marines divided in the back 2.” The gunnery-sergeant driving said.
“Good question, did you notice that the lowest ranking person in this whole set up is a Sergeant?”
“Yeah that’s you…” The Gunny replied.
“Again who are these guys?”

Once the convoy pulled up at the base and the MOF troops disembarked to follow the general and two colonels, the third ordered the kit unloaded and brought inside the hangar where the group was walking to. All were carrying their weapons. It wasn’t really necessary, however they didn’t want Caboose to be the only one armed. Once inside and the hangar doors were closed the colonel who remained behind ordered the marines to form up and then told them to forget what they saw before dismissing them…

Meanwhile back in England

“Damn I love this tactical Tiger Stripe uniform, they even have a flag velcro patch thing!” Nero said as he pulled out an American flag patch placing it on his left shoulder with the MOF insignia on his right, while his left breast sported a “Nero” nametag and a pair of wings superimposed on top of a skull on the right with the words; ‘Death From Above’ bellow it.
“Yep they’re pretty badass; let’s find the CO or a range officer to test these babies out!” Joker agreed both men had their weapons slung over their shoulders and on their backs.

A warrant officer approached them and saluted; “you must be the pilots on the team, I assume that you guys want access to our range?”
“Yes please, and don’t salute us I don’t think our commissions are still valid.” Joker answered.
“Right, follow me chaps, I’m warrant officer Brown 3rd SAS regiment, and I will be your range officer today. Harrison told me you’d probably want to fire those beauties, Caboose customized them into carbines right?”
“Yeah how did you know?” Nero inquired.
“He does a lot of that stuff for the lads around here, we love that guy, weirdest Canadian we ever met, gets free beers the second he walks into any mess here (a bar for soldiers or officers on a base or in a regimental hall, generally divided in 3 or 4; NCMs, NCOs, senior NCOs and Officers). We have to stock up on that Molson Export stuff constantly. This way please, oh one thing never ever walk around with loaded weapons, even if you guys are MOF, its standard safety SOP.”
Both men ejected their mags at the same time catching them in the air and placed them in the tactical vest in the same time then exchanging props at the impromptu chorographical move after apologizing to the senior NCO for the breach in safety protocol.

Posted 3 minutes late sorry, last minute revisions! Anyways hope you guys are liking it, I kinda feel this more or less an extension of the prologue, however I hope it will get a few of you guys excited (no not that type of excited Lewis). Anyways I would really appreciate constructive comments or suggestions or simply regular comments.

-edit- New readers start from the beggining, (it makes more sense that way, well the later ones anyways are at least more plausible, kinda for now Muhuhaha. That’s right we are going back to weird sci-fi plots next time around! Or maybe not, I'm not sure yet, it’s not meant to be realistic so please stop sending me PMs or emails with WTF in the title, I do not reply to those anymore, if you want to comment sign up on the boards and/or comment there). Anyways second announcement in the same post none the less! Joker, Lewis you guys seem to be in most of the episodes since your introduction in Infiltrators you might as well be members of the MOF officially! Prepare yourselves play a more active role beyond playing on your X-Boxes. I mean the Hind needs to flown and blow stuff up by someone right?

Well now the latest chapter is going up, shall the top secret program be revealed? Will many people die? Well that was a rhetorical question I guess, will the villains get away with it? Who is the mastermind behind the this plot? Will I just re-use my go-to villains? Probably not, will there be big explosions? Hell yes! Anyways in keeping with the posting schedual I have set up during the week chapter 2 will be posted... Now! However next week might be a tad schetchy (papers due, speaking of which does anyone have a good suggestion for a film with tons of religious alegory? I have a "Theology in film" class and I'm saving platoon for the final paper do you guys have any suggestions?) Ok ok here's chapter 2!

Chapter 2

“Welcome to our vehicle test facility gentlemen, do you notice something amiss here?” The general tried to ask contently but a hint of anger was there none the less.
“Uh you seem to have no advanced or experimental vehicles here sir.” Brookfield replied to the obvious question.
“That’s right boy! Well that’s not entirely accurate.” He said making a cutting motion across his throat towards a corner of the hangar. Suddenly an armoured personnel carrier materialized, it had been ‘cloaked’ to use common science fiction vernacular.

“Sweet!” Caboose exclaimed.
“Indeed, I assume by the look on your face and the extra space in this hangar that at a given point in time you had more of these?” Harrison said in a half statement, half question.
“Hell yes we did, the problem is that was the original prototype, it the ones missing are the finished variants that were to begin field trials shortly.” One of the colonels answered.
“Ok, then I’m going to assume that the others were absconded with… stolen.” Harrison corrected after getting a vacant stare from the officers at the use of the word. “My next questions are; how were they hijacked, by whom and what could they gain by stealing a few vehicles that could be reproduced in a few months anyways?”
“We think it was a militia unit with uh… anti-government leanings.” The General said.
“Ok then why not send in the army and waste their ass instead of dragging us down here?” Harrison said, this seemed like a rather straightforward op.
“Well the problem is the ‘CO’ of the unit is a multi-millionaire and runs his ‘regiment’ out of a surplus missile complex we sold to him a few years back. It’s rather well defended; perimeter wire, pillboxes, surplus army vehicles and helicopters, maybe even a cobra attack bird and hardened hangars where the experimental vehicles are most likely being held. We think he may be rallying other militias from Texas with like minded beliefs who may want to re-establish the independent Texas territory prior to it’s incorporation into the US.” General Howard elaborated.
“That and the vehicles are top-secret projects forces us to limit those who will have knowledge of their existence and capabilities.” One of the colonels explained.
“You guys really fucked up bad huh? Well we are going to need to call in back up when we need to break out, the air force will need to take out their choppers and some of their armour or whatever they have and maybe some US army rangers with security clearance unless we drive those things out without your cloaking device on.” Harrison said to the trio of officers.
“That can be arranged, one more thing; find out who the leak is please, if you can.” Howard asked.

The team moved over to a UH-60 Blackhawk that was being fuelled up to drop them off near their objective when Caboose suddenly spoke up; “And why the fuck couldn’t we bring Joker and Nero over again? Our Hind would have been able to fuck them up just fine!”
“Yep, they probably want to keep this on the down low and Andrew and Lewis don’t have the security clearance for this type of mission right now…” Garson answered
“Still they are going to be a little pissed, so tactical Tiger Stripe BDUs for us then?” Brookfield asked.
“Yeah, this is going to be a night job. Let’s get this show on the road, check your weapons and gear now, Garson I hope you brought lots of explosives because we are going to need it, Caboose did you manage to make your custom ammo work with that thing?” Harrison pointed at the new M96 sniper rifle.
“Yeah, well not everything, my ‘long range dispersion rounds’ won’t fit...”
“You mean your sniper shotgun bullets?” Brookfield corrected, or at least simplified the term.
“Yes, but I’m designing a new variant to fit, oh I have new stuff to want to see?”
“Maybe later man or at least when we see what they do.” Steiner said.
Caboose was struggling to put on his ghillie suit on inside the fast moving helicopter, it was staying low and making some very quick turns to avoid power lines and trees. So Nichole helped him put on the rest of the camouflage netting. “You look so handsome in that thing honey!” She exclaimed as they were dropped off.
“Thanks babe he replied planting a kiss on her cheek.” As she giggled.
“Fucking weirdoes.” Garson muttered
“I heard that!” She said smacking him on the back of the head before he could get his helmet on.

Some of you might be asking yourselves where is the next update? Or have I died or something the truth is well I've been overwhelmed and super busy with a number of things; New Girlfriend, papers, Star Trek online, girlfriend playing star trek with me and so forth. In any case the next few chapters have indeed been written so come spring break (February 18th - 28th I think) a few should go up. So this might be the last episode seeing how I've been so tied up (not literally, not yet anyways 8| ) so yes I'm not dead and yes this story will be finished! No promises on RS-R or even the Terran Invasions series, I was thinking of something new to start on so when I find some time a pilot might be written down.

Chapter 3

The team disembarked from the big helicopter some of them with a hint of nausea on their breath and hit the ground as the spec-ops Blackhawk took off and returned to her base airfield. They waited 5 minutes in the prone position listened intently for sounds of a patrol or vehicles, satisfied they went to one knee looked around before pulling out the GPS to situate themselves in correlation to the objective got up and proceeded to an area with more foliage with line of sight to the complex. Careful to not trip on wires attached to claymores or trip flares they made their way to the site designated by Caboose as a good place to go to ground until the next evening as they began to dig shell scrapes. (Long shallow holes no deeper than 2 feet in the rear and half a foot in front where a soldier could lie hidden from approaching troops while being able to aim their weapons down at an angle with good visibility of their objective.) Caboose and Brookfield were content with their positions began arranging foliage that would conceal them more but would not hinder their visibility, the leaves and branches would have to be replaced the next day. Next Caboose and Brookfield laid down Gore-Tex sheets inside the scrape with pads to rest their elbows and arms. Then they performed a scouting mission around the sprawling complex which took the better half of the day then they returned to the bluff where the rest of the team had gathered which faced the back of the complex.

“It doesn’t look as bad as the general made it sound.” Caboose reported. “The ‘wire’ is full of holes everywhere but they could have trip flares or sensors or alarms. They only have two pillboxes and they are guarding the entrance and since we are going through the rear…”
“Going through the rear? Bow Chicka Bow Wow!” Brookfield cut Caboose off, after getting looks from the rest of the team for the lame joke he replied; “What? It’s not like I ever get to say much while we are on missions”
“James, sometimes it’s best to be seen not heard… well in your case both.” Garson joked but backed off as Caboose went for his pistol.
“Ok” Caboose resumed, “Since we are going in from the back, where the defences are weakest i.e. two watch towers and a pair of sentries outside that hangar, five bucks says that’s where the objective is at by the way, it could be an in and out thing. Oh William what did the good general say they had modified and what kind of support will we get?”
“Two strykers, so I figure two of us per vehicle, one could drive one gun, not too bad, what about the opposition what kind of vehicles do they have? What kind of armour will we have to put up with?” The team leader inquired.
“Well ok that fits into the both bad and good at the same time news category.”
“Wait it’s both bad and good, I don’t think that’s possible.” Garson replied.
“Well they have what looks like 3 M113s with .50 cal MGs, so our LAWs should work just fine, however they also have HUMVEEs with those new grenade machine gun thingies. While I haven’t seen a Cobra I have seen 2 Hueys with passenger mounted M60s and side mounted rockets.”
“I hate to burst the bubble that is your world Caboose, but that sounds like more bad than good, also if the Strykers are cloaked we wont be able to see them right?” Brookfield spoke up.
“Well they have to have the engine running to operate that, so the thermal sight on Steiner’s UMP-45 will be able to spot them.”
“Won’t you have one for your rifle too?” Steiner inquired
“Yes so in theory should be able to spot it but I have a plan to neutralize the cloak so once that is done I won’t need it, however I won’t always have a great angle or line of site on it and I get horrible tunnel vision with that scope, I prefer a LLAPS (Low Light Amplification Scope aka Night Vision scope) but it looks like I won’t have a choice this time around. So Harrison what’s the situation with the support?”
“Let’s just say that the general has our back, he really hates this fucker and got a ‘Clear and Present Danger’ order from the president so he told us once we are clear to give us him a call and put a strobe light on the APCs and on our packs. He also said if we call in help with the enemy aircraft he could call in two Harriers parked 10 kilometres or so away” He answered but then turned to Garson to continue; “Hand the M-72s to everyone going in and figure out what needs to explode for this mission to succeed or do whatever you do.”

Two hours later when darkness was setting in Caboose and Brookfield took their positions in their scrapes they flipped the lens covers off their scopes and waited for the team to give the ready to go signal. The first shot would go through the head of the farthest tower guard making the other to turn his head which would also disappear in a fine pink mist less than 2 seconds later. He heard Harrison give the ready to go signal over the headset radio, lined up the first man who had just lit a cigarette then pulled the trigger.

Chapter 4

The shot was well aimed as the heavy slug went into the sentry’s head and part of his skull lodged itself into the adjacent man’s head causing instant death. “Ready to go team, sentries disabled.” Caboose responded in an unusually calm tone.
“Only heard one shot there buddy, Oh no you didn’t? You couldn’t have! I have to see this…” Steiner began as he climbed the ladder of the wooden tower and saw the lack of a head on the first man still clutching his smoke in one hand and the protrusions in the skull of the other man. “Damn, you intent on breaking every fucking record out there Mike?”
“I thought I was setting them by now...”
“Radio silence please.” Harrison insisted, he had stopped getting aggravated when his team acted like children long ago, or at least he tried too.

The insertion group was moving in rapidly, the “soldiers” if you could call them soldiers where worse then raw recruits, almost no training beyond how to point and shoot. Garson was planting explosives on the gate to allow for an exit with the vehicle they would most likely drive out. However he wasn’t being a scrooge either, the 16 fuel tanks spread around the "base" had a wad of C4 planted on the underside of their pumps each, while not overly concealed, they would be difficult to spot unless someone knew where to look. It didn’t matter anyways, this mission was going down tonight and hopefully a beautiful explosion would light up the night sky. While the remaining night sentries where removed from play about 22 in total, the team now had to wait for Caboose to take out the deadly .50 cals on the ancient M113s. What they needed and what he did where two very different things. The call for the neutralization of the gunners went out to the sniper/MG team of Caboose and Brookfield and the response normally would have been “acknowledged” or something to that order, instead they heard a sinister laugh and perhaps a giggle. Who made which sounds was irrelevant, the order from Harrison to Caboose should have been complied with, however it was ignored.

“Remember that new ammo I was developing?” Caboose said in a sly tone to Brookfield.
“Uh yes, I’m not sure this is the best time buddy.” Brookfield warned knowing full well what was going to happen next.
The sniper picked out of his pack 3 red and yellow striped rounds and inserted them on the top of his magazine before loading it back into the weapon. He made quick adjustments on the scope and pulled the trigger sighting the first APC. The round impacted but had no immediate effect, all 3 vehicles where hit before the first one exploded in a giant plume of flame the 2 others followed within seconds and so did the alarm.

“God damnit Mike! What did I tell you? Now we have to deal with the attack choppers, troops and probably the super-Strykers!” Harrison hissed over the radio. To punctuate the point the team leader made the unmistakable sound of helicopters prepping to take off was heard nearby the Cobra was already on route to Caboose and Brookfield. Troops were filling out of the barracks in disarray to meet the unknown threat.
“Don’t worry bout’ the birds our friends in the US Airforce have our backs, we can take these fuckers easy and well we needed to get the Strykers out in the open anyways right?” Came the reply over the radio.

“Hawkeye – Hawkeye this is Dark Possum, request air support on enemy rotary wing aircraft marked by laser sight. Over.” Brookfield said over the radio.
“Roger that Possum, 4 birds in sight cover your head boy!” Came the reply from the unmistakable accent of a Texan pilot. Seconds latter 8 Sidewinder missiles (2 per target) slammed into the enemy air assets. The Harrier then switched to VTOL mode, made short work of the pillboxes and strafed anyone without a strobe light on them then departed.
“Hawk Eye is bingo on ammo and is en route back to base, so long Possum hope we left some for you, Hawkeye out!”
“Mike, James good job on the air strike, now let’s find some prototypes!” Harrison said over the radio.

As the strike team approached the hangers most likely to hold their precious objective, they were puzzled to see the doors still closed. Surely the deployment of the vehicles would have been a key asset in the fight to stave off the attacking force, it made no sense to hold them back. Then the entrance of the bunker opened up and they came under fire by about 30 well trained soldiers pinning down the MOF strike team. “Hey guys you don’t have another group of fighters to help out this time do you?” Steiner asked rhetorically. Then over the radio came a voice that sounded rather familiar: “It’s over boys give up now and you will die quickly if not then we have a Mexican standoff. I hate Mexicans!” Said one of the colonels, the one left outside during the briefing, the General already knew!
“Well I have two words for you.” Harrison shouted.
“Yes?” Was the confident reply.
“Fuck you!”

Chapter 5

“Not the answer I was looking for however since you are going to die and you have no reinforcements I guess it can’t hurt to let you in on my plans…” The rogue officer began.
“Wow this guy is full of himself huh?” Steiner commented.
“Just kidding, what do you take me for a Bond villain? Kill them! Oh and I don’t think your sniper and machine-gunner will be coming to your rescue.” He shouted before returning to his bunker.
“Oh no, not Mike and James, that fucking bastard!” Nichole exclaimed as she let off a long burst from her G-36 taking out 1 man and wounding another, as if on cue the rest of the team did the same before returning to cover. A full on firefight was now in progress.
“He is so going to die.” Caboose said as he lined up the colonel in his sights, however before he could take the shot he heard a sound that stopped him dead, the cocking of an assault rifle. “Get up nice and slow and no funny business.” The man ordered.
Caboose switched on the safety on his M-96 and said: “You ok James? Because this just pissed me off right here, how the fuck did they sneak up on us?”
“No clue buddy.”
“Because when I’m pissed I can’t help myself.”
“Yeah I know, in fact a lot of dead people know…”
“Shut up the two of you.” A second voice said from about 5 feet to his left just above Brookfield, he was also still in his scrape, that would make things easier.
“So just two fucktards snuck up on us, just like that?” Caboose continued on his rant, as he reached for the pit he dug where he stashed his custom MP-9, already loaded, locked with the safety off…
“That’s right your no so tough now Mr. Sniper boy are you, huh? I told you two to get up so get the fuck up!” The man said growing more and more confident. His mistake.
“Hey James remember that time in Russia? Where I was talking to this guy?” Caboose began.
“What the fuck are you talking about man?” Brookfield said getting more and more confused by now.
“I told him that…” Caboose didn’t finish his sentence as he spun around let out a 10 round burst into the first man then less then a second latter he emptied the mag in the direction of the other guard catching him with about 5 bullets, both were dead before they hit the ground.
“I told him: in Soviet Russia GUN FIRES YOU!” Caboose finished the sentence. “To be honest I half expected you say that for me but it worked out just fine, give some covering fire to the team so I can search the woods for more woodland critters. And don’t fucking touch my gun!” Caboose said as he picked up one of the M16s and a few magazines.
“Ok buddy.” Brookfield replied
“Assault team, this is support team sorry for the delay we were temporarily detained Mike is searching the woods for baddies at the moment recommend you duck.” Brookfield said before he began releasing long bursts of fire at the enemy soldiers.
“What happened?” Harrison said relieved that he still had cover fire.
“Bad guys showed up, Mike killed them, made a shitty joke, what else is new?”
“Nothing really, give us a long burst with that machine gun of yours will we try to pull back to a position where we have better cover.” Harrison ordered.
“Roger”

In the woods the distinctive clap clap clap sound of an M16 could be heard behind Brookfield. He knew not to worry he doubted it was anyone other than Caboose firing, he was an expert recon soldier it was doubtful anyone could get the better of him in this scenario. However the fact that two guys that managed to sneak up on them had Brookfield worried.
“All done.” Caboose said returning to his position dropping the assault rifle and laying down next to the machine gunner while shouldering his long range weapon.

“Maybe you guys should set up some of the claymores Mike stole from Garson?” Steiner suggested.
“I don’t think Mike took…” Brookfield began
“Hey Garson I hope you don’t mind I borrowed some of your claymores earlier to cover our asses this time around…”
“Son of a bitch!” The demo expert replied over the radio, not really angry, this had become a game between the two team-mates.

Some of the elite guards were making a move on the new position that the MOF assault team had retreated to. They were being careful as the deadly fire coming from the MG-4 on the ridge had taken out 5 men whom had been too much in the open. And the fire that came from the pinned down mercenaries had brought their initial numbers from 30 to about 20, still overwhelming odds for the 4 hostiles they had been ordered to kill. So 5 groups of 4 soldiers known in the military jargon as fire teams; two men would lay down covering fire as the other two would move up and then move forward as the other two provided cover were sent forward. In other words the MOF troopers would have been fucked under normal circumstances, but they still had Caboose and Brookfield harassing the enemy leaving only 3 effective fire teams as two were pinned and trying to take out the support team. They didn’t last long.

The enemies nearest to the assault team were also next to a fuel tank that Garson had rigged they were gone in a fiery display of death the second group about 20 meters behind dove to the ground and were picked off by Harrison and his Steyr Aug before they could get back up. The last effective fire team retreated to the safety of the bunker as well as 2 from the group trying to move on Brookfield and Mike, they were reloading when they made their move to run.
“Well we fucked them up bad huh?” Mike said over the radio
“Roger that, lets go get our vehicles lads, I’m guessing those two hangers have our missing Strykers, Garson you’re up get those doors open MOF style please.

As the Demo man approached the doors he noticed that they would only open with a key card and pass code, with a sly grin he pulled out about 20 pounds worth of C4 shaped charges and split it between the two doors.
“Uh think you have enough there partner?” Steiner said moving back rapidly the rest of the team had already double timed it behind a large slab of concrete, praying to God that it would be enough. There were two “disturbed” members of the team; Caboose and Garson, Garson just like blowing stuff up, Caboose on the other hand was probably outright crazy.
“Think I should say something before I blow this thing?” He asked.
“Up to you man.” Steiner said.
“Cause I mean Mike always says something before doing, whatever he does.”
“Yeah but your not Mike, we can only hold so much crazy on the team”
“Ok well I’ve been wanting to say this one for a while…”
“Go for it!” Harrison said with a sense of dread, if Caboose’s sense of humour was bad, Garson’s was all out pathetic.
“Ok, Knock Knock.”
“Who’s there?” Nichole asked
“C4!” Was the reply
“C4 who?” She asked again
“C - 4 yourself!” He shouted as he flipped the switch.

The explosion knocked the air out of their lungs.

Ok before last chapter comments and such are welcome, I cleaned up typos in the previous chapters and certain things that were more or less unclear and I'm hopping for a non-stop action finish for this episode, well except maybe for the epilogue. I even have a few more jokes I'm holding back for the end. Stay tuned for the last chapter due on Tuesday with the Epilogue on Thursday!

Sorry for the late post but since I think this might be the before last "episode" I thought it would be neat to have more for you guys to read get in some more lame jokes before finishing it up tomorrow (hopefully) with an epilogue some time next week. So here you guys go chapter 6!

Chapter 6

Apart from being the lamest joke the team had heard, the explosion that ensued and the sound wave affected the whole area and pretty much letting everyone know that they were here. “Jesus fucking Christ Garson! I assume you want the entire state to be notified that we came by?” Harrison barked only to realize that he wasn’t far off the mark the sound of incoming vehicles and weapons being discharged into the air was heard over their ringing ears.
“I don’t think that’s our backup! Everyone to the gate double time!” Came the order from the team leader, he wasn’t happy about having to fight a small army and he still needed to get in that silo complex. They were running out of ammunition which was very rare for them and by the sounds coming from down the road the force that they would have to contend with was coming in 4 or 5 deuce and a half troop transport trucks each capable of carrying up to 20 troops. “We never get a break do we?” Steiner said in exasperation…

The trucks were moving up quickly, as the MOF team took positions behind a barricade, thenn the lead truck exploded as some men jumped out on fire burning to death in the cold night. Soon a silent death rained from a distant hill killing several men until they took cover in a ditch across the road; Caboose and Brookfield had relocated to support them. Then as the moment was near picture perfect Caboose had to ruin it with a song over the radio. Traditionally he would play some rock while picking people off but tonight was karaoke night or so it seemed in his twisted mind…
“Well lady and gentlemen since we have a seemingly endless amount of targets I think a certain song is perfect…” He began
“Don’t do it man, please…” Garson pleaded
“I save your lives in a ball of fire, again so I get to sing a song!” Was the reply as he held down the transmit button on the mike:
“It’s the wave of targets that never end,
They end in my scope dead
Some started coming as reinforcements not knowing what was going on
Others keep on coming forever just because they’re the reinforcements that never end
They end up in my scope
*Bang* Dead
Some started coming
*Bang*
As Rein…
*Bang*
*Bang*
…forcements not knowing what’s going on
*Bang*
Others keep on coming forever just because they’re the reinforcements that never end
*Bang*
And they end up in my scope dead.” The sniper concluded as it seemed he ran out of targets
“That was lovely honey.” Nichole said over the radio.

The sound of helicopters blocked out the impolite reply that Garson uttered but truly confirmed Caboose’s notion of never ending foes as he started singing the song again. He began loading AP rounds in his rifle but stopped short of taking down the lead chopper (a Blackhawk) as it stopped rotated 90 degrees and used it’s minigun to mow down the deployed troops. Once the hail of death ended ropes where thrown out the side and troops slid down; US Rangers.
“Thank fucking God, I don’t think I could stand that fucking song for a third verse.” Harrison said to the 4 team members around him getting nods and rolled eyes from all, Including Nichole.
“You don’t appreciate your husband’s singing?” Garson said sarcastically earning a slap behind the head.
“He’s cute but he sings to piss you off, so stop being a fucking wanker and we won’t have to put up with Mike’s Lamb Chops Sing Along remix.” The lead Ranger approached the gate with his weapon in a non-threatening posture.
“You the MOF?” He asked Steiner who was volunteered to check out if they were legit.
“No we’re the salvation fucking army, who the fuck are you?”
“So that’s a yes right?”
“Of course it’s a fucking yes!”
“Right, captain Johnson 3rd Ranger Battalion outside of fort…”
He was cut off by an exploding truck on the road.
“Good enough captain, and to what do we owe this timely re-enforcement?” Harrison said walking up to the man as the rest of the Rangers moved up along the road to catch up with their captain.
“Well we were told to move in to help out after some big fucking explosions went off, which meant you were probably done, after which we were told to secure two Strykers, drive em’ home and collect a high profile prisoner.”
“Ok boys we have the hangar doors where the Strykers where parked… uh open. But this gate is code locked so we rigged it to… open, stand back ok?” Harrison warned darting back to his position behind the concrete barricade and the Rangers moved down the road into the ditch.
“Hey Garson?” Harrison asked
“Yeah?”
“We’ll be fine here right?”
“Probably.”
“Probably?”
“Yeah and the Rangers should survive too…” He said before triggering the C4

Chapter 7

The steel gates flew off the hinges leaving a huge hole for the Rangers to walk in and drive out with the vehicles without much difficulty. A radio signal went out to the support team and Caboose and Brookfield emerged from behind from about 5 meters, they hadn’t noticed them.
“Sup.” Came from Caboose who startled the men watching the area he was hiding to cover his team.
“What’s the plan Will?” Brookfield asked.
“The Rangers grab the vehicles, we breach the bunker, kill what remained of the soldiers and that douchebag colonel, blow this place to Kingdom com and bug out.”
“Excuse me sir,” The Ranger captain began “we need him alive.”
“That’s not how we usually roll, but if he surrenders fine, if he takes shots at us, then he’s fucked.” Harrison replied.
“You guys are wearing Dragon Skin body armour, you can take a few shots…” He began
“Listen you want to walk in and test our gear with point blank AP rounds from assault rifles you are more then welcome. But we are going in there flashbangs and nade’s first then ask for surrenders.” Harrison hissed.
“Now go get in the Goddamn APCs and get the fuck out, and leave a chopper for us please.” Caboose asked calmly.
“Fine but it’s not me writing the checks…” The captain said before signaling to his men to head for the vehicle hangars
“Nope, generals tend to do that, and we are getting a big fucking check either way.” Garson said laughing as the team approached the bunker, Caboose had packed up his rifle and pulled out his MP-9 with a fresh mag and a red-dot sight mounted now. Brookfield changed replaced his ammo box on his MG-4 preparing to fire from the hip when the heavy steel door would be blown inwards. No-one doubted that Garson could get that thing open and if anything from the night’s events had shown it would be a real display of overkill.

“Breach team, get in place!” Harrison commanded, they had done this a hundred times at least. Garson moved up and placed the shaped charge, He put up his hands 5 fingers open slowly lowering one at a time: 5,4,3,2 1! He detonated the charge and the door was blown inwards but not to the extent they had expected. Brookfield waited 5 seconds for the 6 or so guards he expected to rush to the door, leaned in and let loose a 30 round long burst up trough the door. As he pulled back Steiner threw in 2 flashbangs 3 seconds apart, allowing Harrison and Nichole to move up to take out the stunned guards. Only two were waiting for them. In any event they were dispatched quickly a double taps to the chest, 1 to the head each. The clear signal was given and the rest of the team moved up. A layout of the facility showed that it was relatively small 1 corridor that lead to 4 flights of stairs to a “control room” which then branched out to 4 more; 1 to the missile silo tube itself, most likely sealed in by the US Airforce before decommissioning it, another to the restrooms/showers, one to barracks and a last one to a kitchen.

“100 $ says he placed whatever guys he has left in his control room of evil and is hiding behind the blast doors to the missile room.” Steiner waged
“Make that a 100₤ and your on.” Brookfield responded.
“Done.”

Steiner and Garson took the lead, SMGs at the ready as Nichole and Harrison followed with Caboose and Brookfield in the rear when they came to a corner which gave on to the control room Steiner peaked in and was rewarded with a spray of gunfire. He and Garson then pulled out a pair of grenades and flashbangs each and lobbed them into the room. The stunned men heard the distinctive sound of grenades landing on the floor in their proximity, only one had the wit to toss himself to the ground and cover his head. It did not do him much good. Nichole and Harrison moved up quickly firing their weapons at anything in a uniform. Most were dead already except the man on the floor who’s legs had been blown off and his arms were dangling in a very unnatural way. He didn’t have much time; “How many of you are left?” Nichole inquired.
“Go to hell bitch.” Was the stubborn reply, normally that would have earned him a pistol whip to the head or a buttstock to the chest. However the man was in poor shape and they needed answers.
“Well you’re going to get there first, but you have about 15 minutes left in your shitty existence of a life and you are going to die in agonizing pain. I have morphine here, answer my questions and you pass on comfortably, don’t and well, we’ll torture the shit out of you while keeping you alive as long as possible.” She threatened the man.
“Uhhh”
“First, where’s your CO?”
“In the Silo room bunkered up, you won’t be able to blow your way in, it can only be opened from the inside at this point. So your shit out of luck.” He replied with a grin.
“We always find a way dear, what were you doing here? Why did you need this silo, the door must have been a pain in the ass to open up again? She persisted.
“Check for yourself.” He said motioning to the monitor on the wall. A missile was being fueled for launch.
“Ok, that’s not a…” She almost gasped
“No, it’s a fuel air warhead, we couldn’t get a Nuke, but the destructive capabilities of it should still take out Washington DC. That’s all you are getting out of me, so where’s my morphine uh?” He asked clearly in pain.
“Fine.” She said horrified at what was developing into a clearly fucked up scenario “Hey Steiner got any morphine on you?” She asked fully knowing what the answer would be.
“Oh that’s what I forgot! While he had a first aid kit clearly strapped to his left leg.”
“Fuck you guys! He tried to shout as he coughed up blood.”
“Nichole just put him out of his misery already!” Harrison said.
“But he called me a bitch!” She replied.
“That’s true” Caboose confirmed.
“Dude she doesn’t need any help.” Steiner pleaded after losing his bet with Brookfield who was now at the control panel with Caboose playing with the controls.
“I guess.” She said, shooting the man in the head with her Berretta as she walked up to check on her husband and Brookfield.
“Now what do we do?” Garson asked. “I’d need a shit load of explosives to get through that door! I don’t have that much, and before you get all preachy about using it all up on stuff in this facility I would have needed triple of what I brought.” He said looking downwards, he had never run out of explosives, ever, even when he was in the Seals.

“That’s fucking brilliant mate!” Brookfield exclaimed, clearly Caboose came up with a solution to their conundrum. “Ok what have our two musketeers come up with now?” Harrison said, relieved that they might still salvage the mission.
“Well our dear Colonel is smiling back at us via his camera and lit up a smoke.” Caboose answered.
“So what I did was seal the silo launch doors and am about to set a countdown of about 10 minutes, give him the finger and get the fuck out. What do you guys think? The cigarette is going to ignite the fuel and he and this base are going to go up in the biggest explosion in MOF history.” Caboose answered. He said it with an almost evil, no definitely evil grin Harrison decided.
“Ok, let’s get out of here!” Harrison ordered.
“One sec, ok countdown initiated” Caboose stated as he picked up the mike: “Hey asshole didn’t you know smoking was bad for you, eventually it’s gonna’ kill you, soon maybe.” He killed the mike and they double timed it out of the base to the chopper.
“Shit I almost forgot something!” Garson stated as Steiner was getting the chopper as far away as possible.
“What?”
“This” He said before triggering the explosives he rigged to the fuel tanks creating a massive explosion that reached about 300 feet in the air rocking the helicopter considerably. Only to be bested by the near nuclear blast that Caboose arranged, thanks to a cigarette.

Mission accomplished they took their plane and headed home.

Conclusion part 1

Caboose and Nichole had gone on an “errand” it was nearing Halloween and they tended to be the only ones who dressed up, for whatever reason, no-one really knew. But it was something big this time, Joker said something along the lines of ‘It’s Halloween, April fools and Christmas all in one!’
“What the fuck do you think they are up to Will?” Garson asked.
“You know what? I stopped guessing and started praying this time of year. Normally they understate what they are about to do, remember the time Mike promised us ‘some’ fireworks to celebrate our 5 year as a team?”
“Yeah… He almost used a metric ton of shaped charged C4, in a ‘5’ pattern in the field that now serves as an artificial lake for the SAS to practice in. Well now we have a super holiday coming up… Ah shit I’m going to check my gear.” Garson said as he ran off to the explosives locker and came back a minute later. “All there, so it’s not going to blow up, well at least not my stuff…”

October 31st 2010

Nichole called the HQ and invited the team to their flat (apartment), for a “special Halloween party”. Caboose and Nichole had moved out of the HQ shortly after they got married, but they were pretty close to the base that the British government housed them so they could get there in about 5 minutes or so. The rest of the guys followed suit and bought either homes or flats nearby. Mind you these flats were more like penthouses that cost close to 2,000,000£ each and the homes well… Garson and Harrison preferred to stay at the HQ, lots of room and nice furniture and electronics the others left behind.
An so they were also the last ones to show up
“Hey guys!” Caboose said.
“Who the fuck are you supposed to be?” Garson said bemused
“I’m Commander Shepard.” Was the short reply.
“Uh uh commander, who else is here?” Harrison asked
“Uh this is a Halloween party you guys don’t have costumes, what the fuck guys?”
“Well I’m dressed as your boss and my buddy over here” Harrison said nodding to Garson, “is an undercover demolition expert.”
“Meh I guess that works.” He replied obviously disappointed “Come on in, Brookfield you won the bet. Free beers for a month…”

The two late arrivals walked in to see that there seemed to be a Mass Effect theme going on, but it appeared that only Caboose and Nichole where dressed up for the theme in question. (she had a Miranda Lawson costume on.) Joker and Nero where Sith Lords or so they said, Brookfield was a vampire of some sort and Steiner was dressed up as Maverick from “Top Gun.” However in the back 4 men were in admiral uniforms and weren’t very impressed with the party, however they had beers in their hands so they could potentially loosen up…

“Hey Mike…” Harrison began.
“Commander.”
“Commander,” Harrison sighed “who are those guys? Normally it’s only us who come to your parties.”
“Well they want to have a team chat so lets go over and talk.”

The team gathered and decided to go have, the chat with the men in uniforms, definitely not costumes it appeared. The men where from 4 different navies, England’s Royal Navy, the US Navy, the Canadian Navy and a Russian. ‘Oh shit’ Harrison thought to himself, giving a negative nod to Brookfield, severely intoxicated who was now sneaking up on them like Dracula to bite the Russian, fortunately no-one else noticed and Brookfield stopped a tad downcast.

“Gentlemen” Harrison greeted shaking hands with each officer in turn, “what can we do for you tonight?”
“Well, you guys remember our old Soviet minded Russian friends?” The Brit asked.
“No shit.” Garson replied
“Well they are causing minimal trouble for us however none of our Navies can engage them because they are in international waters or out of our jurisdiction, occasionally entering the Caribbean for supplies. Borderline pirates, they have a fleet of about 2 Battle cruisers, 5 Destroyers and 10 or so Corvettes, no subs that we know of…”
"Pirates of the Caribbean!" Brookfield exclaimed.
"No, be quiet tonight dear." Nichole said
“I’m going to stop you right there ok? We don’t do naval targets, well not normally anyways, we don’t have a ship in our arsenal.” Harrison said plainly.
“Not anymore you don’t if you want it that is.” The American said.

By the big smile on Caboose’s face it looked like he already said yes on behalf of the team, it was his prerogative being the second in command. So Harrison shrugged his shoulders and said; “where is it docked?”

Ohhhh they get a ship? Nice... I know what kind of ship I would like, wonders what they'll get?! Some naval death and destruction in perspective hopefully... Who am I kidding really... Its gonna be a explosion marathon like usual! Good work up to now, keep on the good work, finish this then bring me senseless violence! I demand senseless violence! Can't wait for the 8th story!

Conclusion Part 2/Epilogue

They agreed to change out of their costumes except for Brookfield who had to be kept apart from the Russian who he kept lunging at; he was going to have one hell of a hang over in the morning. They came to an unmarked but clearly military shipyard/port and pulled in. They moved towards a sleek black ship with “MOF-S Normandy” painted on the side.
“You couldn’t help yourself huh Mike?” Harrison stated
“Nah, in fact I’ve been working on it for weeks in fact, only a few more things I want to get done then I’ll be happy with it.” The sniper replied

The American admiral halted about 20 meters in front of the ship and announced: “May I introduce the Harbinger class heavy stealth Corvette. Jointly built by the American and British Navies in terms of structure, design and weapons with Canadian tech similar to what they have developed for the ISS including an AI, advanced auto targeting systems, holographic interfaces…”
“Wait did you say holographic interfaces?” Steiner asked
“Yes, it allows you to inspect the ship visually from the inside; if the Rail guns are…”
“Rail guns???”
“SHUT UP AND LET US FINISH FOR FUCKS SAKE” The British admiral shouted, clearly pissed that these mercs where would be getting billions of dollars of equipment they would never understand.
“Sorry continue sir.” Nichole interjected, grabbing Brookfield by the cape as he made a run for the Russian who was getting more and more disturbed by the actions of the apparent light weight drunk British Dracula.

“It comes down to this, you guys are getting a prototype that none of our countries are willing to mass produce or put into service to take out a common threat and since you saved Washington, well we owe you. Again.” The American said allowing for his Canadian counterpart to go over the benefits of the holographic interface which essentially gave a readout of all the ships systems and weapons which included: two forward Rail Guns, an advanced point defense system for Anti-ship missiles, their own compliment of anti-ship missiles; 34 AGM-84 Harpoons and 10 MK54 torpedoes; the ship could even submerge. Furthermore it had a hangar for a heavy helicopter which in this case could house their Hind and best of all the ship AI. It could take over the point defense systems using them while maneuvering the ship to give it a better chance of evading incoming missiles.

“Come on in.” The Brit naval officer said, hesitant to allow the Russian on board.
“Mike,” Harrison said pulling him aside “please don’t tell me you named the AI too…”
“I tried. It wouldn’t let me change its name…”
“Thank God for small favours.”

“Welcome to your ship, crew of 24, 8 are needed to operate it efficiently…”
“Uh while there are 8 of us and none of us have the skills to operate something like this.” Harrison pointed out. “And 8 men seems to be a relatively small number of men to crew a ship like this.”
“That’s where I come in,” a disembodied female voice spoke up. “I am the Ship Tactical Operations Assistant. Or STOA for short, most crewmen refer to me as computer which works well but is incorrect given my capabilities. Furthermore the ship has a full complement of crewmen. However Commander Caboose keeps on referring to me as EDI…”
“Commander Caboose?” Harrison snorted.
“My ship, my title.” Was the reply from the sniper.
“Shouldn’t you be a captain then sir?” A crewmen looking over a console piped in.
“Don’t give him any ideas please.” Steiner pleaded.
“So how much is it going to cost us to operate this thing including paying the crew, gassing up and ammunition re-supply?” Harrison asked not really wanting to know the answer.
“Nothing, the crew is courtesy of Her Majesty’s Navy and is being paid danger x5, you can fuel up and rearm at designated military ports on your map screen.”
“That’s nice and how much are we getting paid for this mission?” Garson asked
“100,000,000£ for the mission it self, 50,000,000 per member of the unit and a total bonus of 25,000,000 if you kill the international terrorist known as ‘Mr. Black’” The British admiral answered. This was going to be a retirement mission, if they survived.
"Let's get this show on the road." Harrison said.

Find out what happens next in MOF: Harbingers of Justice (working title)
______________
Harbingers is going to be the last mission/story so I plan on making it full of action, the kind of silliness you expect from an MOF story and maybe a kill off I'm not sure. Anyways as you all know I appreciate comments as it helps me gauge the reactions of my audience (you guys) and work it into being one if not the best piece of work I want to post here.

So we got a Commander Caboose huh? Shepard wasn't available I guess... I wonder if the enemy are going to have or be robots with AIs in them... Makes me wonder... Well at least the ship is able to go submarine and is armed to the teeth, should be fun times ahead... Hope the next story coming soon!

Looks like there's potential for an e-book here so long as I change a few things (Caboose's name for starters) I'm leaning towards something distinctly Canadian but not sure yet. A decent introduction and chapters between each episode which would be chapters in their own right, a tad re-written. Parts would be most likely be posted here first. Just so you guys know while each section/chapters here look short they are about 2-3 pages long at font 11 on word which translates to 5-6 pages long on a paper back cover at font 14, 3 on one of those e-reader thingies or 12 on an iPod touch or iPhone! 12 pages! So since each story totals around 12 or so pages (on word), well you guys get the idea. With Chapters in between and some additional flesh per chapter/story I'm looking at a 150-200 page book!

Important people read my stuff ^^

So what I plan to do is right up the intro to the team (here first), the last story after that. The in between stuff and see if it gets picked up for real!

Looks like it's gonna take a while as my innitial draft was all out rejected, and TBH I was felt pretty down about it. The modifications that I made kinda betrayed the style of the series a tad as well. So I'll post the introduction for the book (maybe even the first chapter), re-write the last story for you guys, the ones that still read my stuff anyways and begin work on my next big project. So here's where it all started:

Prologue

Afghanistan January 1st 2002, 4 kilometers from the Pakistani border

Master Corporal Michael McKenzie, a sniper with the JTF2 elite Canadian Special Forces peered down the scope of his high calibre rifle looking for anything to kill at this point in time. He and his spotter had been “selected” to take out high level Al Qaeda leaders in in the region in an attempt to cripple the ambitious terrorist organization, without much success. McKenzie and his spotter had been lying in wait for days for someone important to come out of one of the buildings in the mountain side complex they had been observing; however there had been virtually no activity of late, until now. “What the fuck?” McKenzie’s spotter asked. “Trucks! A convoy, finally something to kill! Christ I was getting bored counting fucking goats, do you know how many goats these fuckers have?” The sniper asked. “How many?” The man sitting next to the whining NCO asked, knowing full well the answer, having heard this comment several times already. “16.” Was the answer. “It took you 3 days to count to 16 chief?” The man now peering through high powered binoculars said. Observing the convoy of old Toyotas trucks that were prevalent in the region snaking their way up to the mountain side camp said. Looking away as he got the middle finger from the suddenly alert sniper.

“Sarge did I ever tell you this was a bullshit mission?” A new corporal in the US elite “Delta Force” team asked his squad leader: Staff Sergeant Mark Garson an explosive ordinance expert with 10 years in Delta Force. “Yeah about 15 times, now get back in formation and get Steiner up here double time!” Sergeant Carl Steiner and Garson went back a long time, they were inseparable and as a result could read each other’s mind and as a result could communicate with each other almost without words. “We’re here.” Steiner whispered. Here was about 300 feet above the same camp that the Canadians were desperately searching for a target. Their objective however was to search and dispose of anything from old artillery shells or mines to poison gas and worst case scenario a nuclear device missing from a Pakistani arsenal. Which was in fact the true reason they were sent here, the thought of Al Qaeda holding a nuclear weapon even in Afghanistan was horrifying now that the invasion had turned into a military campaign against the almost beaten military force of the Taliban regime. They planned to get behind the defensive positions in front by base jumping into a remote corner of the camp then moving into the caves hopefully undetected. Steiner was now checking the parachute packs of the 12 man strike team in anticipation of the jump.

On the same mountainside albeit at a lower altitude was Warrant Officer William Harrison’s SAS team of 6. It was reported that 4 British doctors had been taken captive and held at the camp as field medics for enemy combatants. That didn’t sit well with the English government and therefore the situation had to be remedied. So they were carefully climbing down avoiding the use of rappelling ropes that would alert a keen sentry, so they would sneak in, kill enemy sentries and move out under the cover of darkness. “Weapon’s check” He ordered when the 6 men were about 10 feet from the ground, obviously they were all ready to go but these things had to be done anyways. Upon reaching the ground a slightly revised plan was being formulated by Harrison now that they had an actual feel for terrain for the mission they had practicing for 2 days.

No-one present knew that a huge lapse in miscommunication on the part of NATO command was about to lead to a gigantic bloody mess, one that never officially happened. As the trucks pulled in early in the morning unloading personnel that couldn’t be distinguished were herded into shacks which led to things that began to move forward that couldn’t be stopped.

“Let’s go Delta Force!” Garson ordered as his squad took a running leap before pulling their chutes’ at around 03:00 hours lima. “What the fuck is that?” McKenzie almost shouted from across the valley. Harrison was more quiet but no less surprised. “Warrant, who are those idiots?” Corporal James Brookfield whispered. “Yanks, and they are going to fuck everything up. Ready your weapons and prepare to provide support.” He ordered. “What about the hostages?” One of his men asked. “It’s their own damn fault for coming here without an escort. Get behind something!” He ordered as he pulled the cocking handle on his Diemaco C8A1 Carbine as the ‘Deltas’ were landing. Garson hit the ground hard and twisted his ankle, this was a bullshit mission and he would retire after this, if he survived…
