[Slightly Wonky Robob]

Was lurking over at SWR, and saw a new Stargate game, Stargate Resistance.

Well for starters, I'm glad they've decided to base the plot around the Goa'uld and the System lords... but atm I think that is all I am glad about. I have looked at some videos and some screenshots, and it doesn't look amazing... but who knows, media doesn't always do a game justice.

Also, it's a shame it's only for the PC... but on the plus side, games designed for one platform tend to be of higher quality.

Your thoughts on the game?

The way the game looks and how the presentation is done leads me to think the budget for this game is absolutely minimal. The lore and presentation texts on the site are all but professional.

That the graphics are outdated is one thing, but this game seems to lack all the personality that made the Stargate TV series what it was. To be honest, I cannot imagine a succesful game from this series if it is not based on the characters from the series.

Hoping for the best but, figuring a low budget, licensing costs for the characters are probably out of the question anyway.

It's seems to be a fanmade project which has somehow slipped through.

It started creation in 2005 as an MMO called "Stargate Worlds", but because of finance they have changed it into a third person shooter (Quicker to create?).

Don't hope for anything out of this game. It could be terrible, but it has a chance to be intresting and orginal.

I'd quite like to try out this game. I really liked Stargate SG1, although I'm not a real fanatic about the franchise.

It looks quite good, from the screenshots. And I bet the gameplay will be pretty awesome.

I like sci-fi games, and a game with stargates in is bound to be decent.
