Go here to download Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 1 as freeware. Seems EA wants to get everyone back in a CnC mood for the upcoming release of Tiberian Twilight.

I could join in on that, I've never played any of the C&Cs online, even though I owned all of them up to RA2 XD

edit: aside from the expansions for them... only have the first RA1 exp

That it did, but minus RA1 and TS, EA have given more out this time. Screw buying the new one, get the better, old ones, for free

With every instalment after ZH, the C&C series have deteriorated IMO. C&C 3 was pretty much terrible, and from then on it's only become all but unacceptable. In contrast, the oldest two games, C&C and RA1, have the most awesome atmosphere in the whole series; even if their gameplay mechanics and balances sometimes suffer, they play just so much more awesome IMO . And at least you don't have armoured bears, killer dolphins or lightsaber samurai in the oldies.

Of course this can be your thing but it's exactly what turns me away from RTS games >.> .

Well tbh playing through TibSun doesn't make me say ''oh god CnC3 is so different from this and terrible'' actually.

But that is Sun, not the first game, which I haven't played.

I already have TS/FS, but I will get RA1.

Do you think RA1 will have the expansions aswell or just the base game?

I don't know I never liked TS too much. I never saw TW as that much worse than it. And tbh RA3 wasn't particularly bad, but it wasn't good either. It had a lack of replayability, something that RA2 excelled at imo as did Generals.

That's what I was referring to. EA won't give out SAGE source code until they move to a new engine with no legacy code. I'm hoping they do dump the SAGE engine for any future RTS installments (notice the lack of C&C )

Oh and I don't know if you guys know this but Apoc said he might release some assets from the cancelled game called "Tiberium", however since he wasn't the project manager of that game we might not get them.

Generals has been on as low as €3 forever, and with these games now for free you'd be paying the rest for RA2 + YR, the Red Alert 1 expansions and Zero Hour. Sounds fair for 10 quid but no more.
