I really want to use the animations in RA3 javelin soldier W3X files into ZH and save them as W3D infantry model, skeleton, and animations.
It's easy to convert tank or building models, but I have really no idea how to convert infantry models along with the animations. Can anyone help?

EDIT: fixed flak trooper to javelin. typo.

Simply import the .w3x with the W3x-import plugin für 3ds max and then export it to w3d. It will be a lot of work to make this model fit in ZH but theoretical it is possible.

I can use the max files in the sample art packs, so importing them to 3dsmax is no problem. what I want is use the model animation. how to modify it into W3D animations?

Currently you can not extract or import compressed w3x files.

You need the uncompressed version to be able to import it.
And you can't import animations.

Erm, how about exporting them from 3DS-Max to the W3D format?

I'm using the *.max files in the allied art packs. edit them in 3dsmax7.

I'm confused because after opened the file the infantry model appearance is way different with W3D models in ZH. I need some guides how to convert the models into W3D. For infantry model, so far I just use existing ZH infantry skeleton and worldwrap my model to the skeleton with WWSkin.

Just wrap your infantry to the RA3 skeleton, technically it's the same, only with a couple more bones and some IKs. This won't have any effect on applying a WWSkin to it, though.
