The best types of simulation games for me are city builders - I used to spend hours at a time playing Zeus - Master of Olympus, and many others.
You almost did, didn't you?

I play Football Manager (not as much as I used to mind), but now it's all about OpenTTD. Given my revived interest in this game and the obvious interest in the genre from the members, I would consider a subforum if people actually discussed these games. Presently almost all simulations are SP however which makes for a distinct lack of areas of discussion. If people were to talk about them more then I'd have no issue in making up the subforum. Atm I see no point.

Well i'll certainly be posting screenshots of my cities in SC4. I may even put some up for download - Although I will probably use alot of custom content on offer.

My best city was Canyon Creek - Built on a winding river between mountain ranges - The city pop was 2.6 million with the entire region at 25 million. It was a masterpiece.

Well I'm a RollerCoaster Tycoon whore - I literally spent my younger days addicted to 1. Beat every level on it... twice. I found a bit of a cheat as to how to create an awesome cheap rollercoaster. Steel Rollercoaster, inverted reverse hill climb, then have it shoot back through the station, loop-the-loop, then shoot high up in the air, then let it fall back until it hits the station again. That rollercoaster never fails to get huge crowds, no matter what they like, and you can charge a fortune for it. If you double it up symmetrically and have them climb together, they become even more popular. I tended to call it loopy custard. I have a craving to play it again now...

I loved making rollercoasters on that game, I had an excellent one called Tunnel Torrent. It was a dual track racing rollercoaster which raced through many tunnels and terrain cuts all set in a massive mine. I think it was the highest excitement I achieved, 9.5 something IIRC. But as it didn't rely on big drops / tight curves the intensity was fairly low.

The only thing that annoyed me about the game was tht you could never build an uber rollercoaster and make money from it. Nobody ever went on it.

I tended to charge for the park, not for the rides. Meant I could make the coasters as insane as I liked. One my parks just had huge coasters IIRC. About 30 of them.

Primary goal is to make the guests happy for me. That and keep the company value level with the park value, which is really damn hard. I just liked the management side of it as much as the building side. However, the size of some of the parks annoyed me, they were too big to cluster guests around rides.

OpenTTD has a very complete multiplayer system. You join a server and either join an existing company that's already being played, or start a new one and compete against the others. We could easily set this up with a few FS members.

I still remembered those games back in 1996 with MS-Dos version untill Windows version in 2000's and they're the best historical simulation game I ever played.
Well, I got 3 times United kingdoms. :P It was so hard do many stuffs.
