We're thirsty Mr Mayor D:
You've better been setting some subway system between the residential area and the industrial one, otherwise you gonna have a lot of traffic jam D;

The water wasn't a problem, it was just that I needed to build a new pump 8|

I have an extensive bus system, although some areas are getting a bit jammed up. Particularily my inner ring road around my main office district.

Heres an updated shot -

Why do you have industrial zones next to urban zones 8|

Was intended to be a high tech area, which it was. But then demand fell so it turn into dirty / manufacturing. Besides the area doesn't give that many negative effects, its to small to create a large amount of pollution.

CBD is coming along nicely now, and i've managed to stabilise my population. It was dipping and diving 100k each month.

There are plenty - http://www.simtropolis.com/omnibus/index.c...asy_Way:_Part_I - Part 1 of 3.

Bear in mind though, this heavily utilises the region system, which makes the game a fair bit easier, producing a self contained city is the hard part. However I will run out of room soon so will start expanding regionally.

The tutorial covers pretty much everything though, but if you have other questions I can probably answer them.

Plenty of cities have airports in urban areas. London City airport is situated on the isle of dogs, right next to Canary Wharf.

Region population was over 1 million before I got rid of all the slums and replaced them with offices.

So, I installed the game but I can't even get it to start. My DVD drive just buzzes like it's running the disc and then nothing.

And no, I am not running vista, I am not stupid.

Hmm, not sure why that would be, have you tried reinstalling or running directly from the exe file?
Just as an addition, I have it running on Vista fine.

Mandatory download, by the way. Adds a lot content and fixes a countless number of bugs.

Already have NAM, hence the roundabouts ;)

Industry Quadrupler is also good if your running out of space. It increases the jobs of all industrial buildings by 4x, and changes the water / power / tax income accordingly so that it doesn't affect gameplay that much.

Yeah, I use the quadrupler too, although it is really only required to get growth in the first city of the region, once you have one city all the splinter cities can just grow with offices and middle income residential.

I think I may mass relocate my industry from my main city to the outskirts. I want a big downtown area. The quadrupler isn't required, just means you don't have to waste loads of space with industrial, its a bit of a cheat really.

Reinstalling and running the exe directly did nothing. Still broke.

Google was useless to me for finding a solution.

Well if you own the game theres nothing to stop you torrenting it legally, your allowed to download things you already own IIRC. It could also be a duff CD, try a NOCD crack.

How is torrenting supposed to help? The discs are practicably untouched so it's not like they're damaged, and they worked -before- just not now. And the no-cd crack did nothing.

It was just a suggestion, if the disk is untouched I have no idea, maybe try running it in different compatability modes?
