Ok. So. I just got my hands on a brand new Wei-Tech (Airsoft, not real deal) Single stack 1911 MEU. For those of you that don't know, that's the model of 1911 that Captain Price uses in CoD4. On a directly related note, it was one of my favorite guns in that game, and I really like the looks of it. What I have now is a rail-less, matte black 1911 with MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit, the style of pistol) grips, beavertail safety, skeleton hammer and three hole trigger. Which means that all of the parts are the same as the ones used in game, except for the grips, and the Barrel needs to be polished. Well, I'm going to polish the barrel, but I can't figure out the grips. So, if anyone still has the game installed on their PC, could you open it up and take a few screenshots of the 1911, particularly the grips? It'd be greatly appreciated. Also, there will be pics of the finished product. Thanks.

Don't have any screenshots of the M1911 handy but I do have the pic of the M1911 ripped:

Thanks guys. I'm looking around for Grips like the ones in game, (and I coulda sworn I saw ones just like it before...) but it's not turning up much. I think I'm just going to cover the MEU logo on the grips I have with Vaseline or Tape and paint them tan... the checkering is close enough. And I'll be taking a first crack at polishing the barrel and chamber tonight. If it turns up with good results, first pics will be up then, and more when I get the paint and it drys up enough here to use it. So yeah: update later tonight, I think.

Title edited, pics inbound. My local hardware store was out of Krylon paint, so I haven't done the grips yet, but these are before and afters for the polishing. All done by hand with a vice and high-grit sandpaper. I'm not *entirely* happy with the results, as it's kinda a brushed metal look rather than just shiny, so I may do more with some steel wool and such, but for the moment, it doesn't look half bad. And, what you've all been waiting for: Pics.

Before:
Posted Image
That's the chamber, you can't really see it but .45 ACP is engraved on it.

Posted Image
And here it is with the slide locked back. Notice that it's pretty much the same pistol, except for the grips. And the always carrying it condition one which
A. I never understood.
B. I don't need because I'm a righty and the MEU (which is the one in game) has an ambidextrous safety.

After:

.45 Automatic Colt Pistol. The picture doesn't really do it justice here, it's very easy to read the text now because I didn't take any of the finish off of the area that's engraved, so it's nice crisp black lettering. And the letters don't look that misaligned in person, this is just very zoomed in (SLR FTW)

Posted Image
There's the shiny barrel.

Posted Image
And a kinda overview of it.

Ok, next pics will come when I get my hands on some krylon paint and do the grips, or go full in and just buy/acquire real grips like the ones on there (which will only happen if I can find a pair cheaper than the $60 Operator grips, which are the closest match I've seen so far).

Anyway, comments?

damn it would look great if you could get rid of that orange barrel, but other than that you just need the brown grips and you'll have an accurate replica

It's a pity the barrel extrudes (and that it's orange) but other than that it looks pretty neat :sly: .

Nice grips, but not the same as the ones in game at all, and way too expensive :P.

@Raptor: Double Stack Mags are for nubs. Just sayin' :D. Otherwise, nice looking gun, what model is it? I can't quite read the engraving on the slide.
@Warbz: Mine was bought locally for 120-ish USD, about the same as online, for US buyers. I dunno what it's like for you...

The only ones I can even maybe name are the Deagle, M9 and G36C/E? Though I'm probably wrong. :P
Though I recognise the bottom left gun out of CS:S... I think.

Top Down:
M16 Variant (It looks like 5.56 mags, at least)
Shotgun of some sort (Remington 870?)
M9/Beretta 92FS
G36k (Four slot handguard)
Nickel Plated Desert Eagle, probably MR not IMI, though being a replica it doesn't really matter :P.
The last one is some variant of a G3?

Last one is a H&K G3 SAS custom? I remember seeing it on an airsoft shop before

The first one is too heavily modified from its original version to actually recognise as anything but "an M16 system" :P . The last one is probably a hardguard-modified variant of the HK53A2.

Sorry for the delay on the update. Finally got the painting done this afternoon, and I'm quite happy with it. The orange tip will be dealt with pretty much as soon as I find a way to removing it that I'm confident won't damage anything else. More pics from the album are here, and two thumbnails below. The first one shows the color most accurately.

Aren't you required to keep the orange tip on? Safety issues and everything.

Nope. It's required for transport and sale (and the transport is more or less irrelevant to me, because I can put the tip back on, or just carry it in a locked box or something). Also, being that it's used either on regulated fields, or property big enough/rural enough (and with the police informed) that the police aren't coming, I'm not too worried about having the police shoot me.

EDIT: Personal information removed, paranoia strikes again.
