If it turns out like what they did in CoD5 (Making a single weapon so overpowered that 90% of players only use that weapon) then I won't even look at it.

It's unlikely there will ever be a CoD title in which there is NOT a weapon so overpowered that 90% of players only use this weapon, regardless of who makes it.

Of course they put in dedis. I don't think any PC gamer would swallow a Treyarch.NET now |8 .

But yeah, I must say it looks pretty good. Though they keep using the same footage over and over in all their vids so far, I can make out an M4, AK, AUG, MP5K (with the original foregrip which was quickly scrapped - why can't developers put in a normal MP5K for a change? :P), SPAS-12 (with optional Dragon's Breath ammo, as well as folded stock which looks cooler than unfolded IMO), RPK, and a crossbow (with explosive bolts). Tbh the idea of a crossbow still doesn't really appeal to me but we'll see I guess.

Yeah the dedicated servers decision was obvious. ( and I love it)

Video looks nice although there doesn't seem to be anything new

btw:

You can see some screenshots here:

Most of them are from the video shown though.

The SR-71 scene is awesome, I really wonder what it is. Overflights of Russia and evading missiles by just accelerating to Mach 3? :xD:

This sounds possible for me.
UAVs are too high tech and they already had Spy-planes in CoD5.
Although it doesn't really make sense if a SR-71 would circle over the map for 30 seconds.

And it wouldn't be destroyable if there were any AA-launchers (like Stinger in CoD6). Well, I hope there are none. Carrying a stinger just for the sake of destroying killstreaks sucked imho.

I honestly cannot think of any games besides Battlefield: Vietnam set in the Vietnam War era. There must not have been any/many popular or mainstream Vietnam War games as of late. Seeing how Treyarch didn't completely screw up World at War, maybe they'll do a good job here, since this is a setting that I don't feel has been really explored by other games.

Maybe it hasn't been explored because it's actually one of the fewest wars in which USA had it's ass kicked, and therefore game developers are afraid of the possible bad reaction of the Vietnam veterans and patriotic guys?

Uh-huh. Because you can get your ass kicked in a country where you have no troops deployed.

Needs more multiplayer footage! And it seems they lifted the M16 iron sight directly off the MW2 FAMAS but whatever |8 .

I envision napalm strikes and helicopter raids (being accompanied with Ride of the Valkyries) as the killstreaks.

Also, during the bit in which they climb into the Hind, is the player character actually speaking?

I think so actually since the 'player' responds to his friend's status check.

Treyarch thought that the "silent" player thing in most FPS are bad, so they decided to give the player a voice in this game.

Not a bad thing if you ask me, could give added charisma to the player that way...

treyarch has been getting a bad rap lately, (and they do kind of deserve it) but i think they really could prove themselves with this one

Funny you should mention that. I was thinking the other day about how terribly the voice acting was done in WaW - everything sounded way too studio-ey and not like the character was actually in the field but in your head.

Yea ummm at least they arent as lazy as IW when it comes to the main character. I just hope they go and actually make a real player model for SP unlike the headless ones in *from CoD4 to MW2*.

I can't say I'm that excited over it, but the Treyarch guy they interviewed seemed really enthusiastic and proud of the work they've done. Maybe it's because they're bringing back dedicated servers and lean, but right now it's looking quite promising.

I hope this isn't a repeat of MW2 for consoles.. if it is, then I predict a lot of people will seriously get tired of the multiplayer. Too many hackers, cheaters, and boosters...

I'm considerably more worried about other stuff like balance, the weapons in the game, some mechanics here and there and moddability.
