Yes, my character announced himself to the enemy and got me killed because Treyarch, being the idiots that they are, thought it would be a good idea for the enemy to hear everything your team says. This results in many random deaths. The best part is when it blurts out these phrases and you had no idea a team mate was killed in the next room behind you.
Edit: While the enemy had a Spy Plane at the time, it still doesn't change that this is a truly stupid concept.

People should use their ears, yes. But to hear footsteps not the game announcing your position to everyone because someone on your team died.

Did you even watch it? It's an example of how battle chatter gets you killed when you announce to the guy who is moving away from you that you are there.
BTW, in the PC version you cannot hear enemy footsteps because everyone practically has Ninja. We are still waiting on a patch for this.
A usual case of you making assumptions, just like the Battlefield video that you commented on but did not watch.

I watched it, and I had to read your comment below the video to understand what the problem was. To me, it looked like you died and that was the end of it. And what really rustles my jimmies is how you are so upset at this game, you know Treyarch blows, and you still got suckered into the hype and bought it and now here you are complaining about it on FO.

Agreed, Chyros and Stinger really need to calm down. If its that bad then just return the game and go back to cod4.

Agreed, calm down guys, I don't like WoW, so I don't play it. You don't like BO, so don't play it.

It's enough in itself that they have absolutely no recourse against Treyarch or Activision for the money they've spent, they now have to keep opinions, based on a not insubstantial understanding of the game and games to themselves, but now you want them to stfu because you think they are being picky??
Not cricket at all imo.
Edit: Typo

FYI, I dont think the game is "the dogs bollox", but I don't hate it with a passion like Chyros and Stinger seem to do.
Have your opinions, please do, but don't bog down a whole topic around them, it just gets boring to read.

2 topics actually, if you count the fact that they're also always talking about that on LPTPW as well.
I'm only reading this topic to see if the game is worthy of being bough, but every time I open it, I see either Chyros or Stinger complaining over and over again about the same things.
We fucking understood that you don't like the game sounds, that you think half the weapons are OP, and that the damn chopper is too low poly, etc... Now could you please add something else to the conversation, or just stop repeating the same thing. You could at least stop ignoring other people's opinions or pretending that they just don't know what makes a game good.

I could write "x weapon and x perk are ZOMG awesome" but I don't see how useful that is to anyone, really.

It got really annyoing now.
I have to agree with Stinger about the battle chatter issue though. This is a big mistake by Treyarch, although he could have said it less offensive.
And to contribute to the topic.:
I'm lvl 50 now, and I got all the Pro-Perks. I don't plan to go prestige, so I guess it was worth it. The weapon and perk balance still isn't perfect, but imho it is better than MW2's.
I still enjoy the game but clearly Treyarch's games aren't as good as IW's.
... if you don't count the dedicated servers. In response to one of Chyros' statements, It's still easier to play with friends in BO than in (original steam version)MW2 for me.

No, i disagree. First, they can't return it, it's a steam game.
Second, you wouldn't be posting in this thread if they hadn't been keeping it alive with their complaints.
Sure, they may be annoying you with there posts but they have all the right to post about what they dislike about the game just as much as people have the right to post about how much they like the game.
Want to stop it from being all negative? Post some interesting news about the game, or post what you are enjoying ect.
This ends now, if you aren't talking about CoD, keep it out of this thread. Chyros and Stinger have every right to post and you have every right to create a counter argument, but people moaning about people moaning is even more annoying.

Whats all this "the right, the right the right" Im not denying their "right to post". Im pointing out how their rudeness to myself and others who dont completely agree with them in this topic shouldnt be allowed.
In regards to their moaning Im just saying that shit is getting really old, really fast.
Oh and I do post news about the game, if its not posted by someone else first I post gaming news here all the time. Thing is when I do the response is "well holy shit look at that, its clearly not enough polies on the bullet casing, treyarch should go home and murder-suicide their entire families to stop from breeding such incompetence into the gene-pool" for about 3 pages till someone else posts the next news.

Yes it is boring, but its been going on for so long I want to, if not curb (by all means complain, hell I would be complaining to if I had such ridiculously bad foresight as to buy a game I was in two minds about but couldnt return) it, then at least raise the issue.
I cant exactly create a topic about it can I? A "Chyros and Stinger are being rude and bogging down the black ops topic with their moaning" Thread, would make me look ridiculous, and I dont care that much about it either.

Their excessive complaining and rudeness is what my point is, not people just complaining about FPS's.
Im done arguing with people in this topic, for now anyway.

But my real problem is with the MP as with everyone else. I don't get to enjoy it due to this totally shitty lag. I have tried various fixes including the mp_cfg file editing which did not solve the issue. The only improvement I got was after I got the NVIDIA driver update which sort of made the game a bit playable but still, its no where near the MW2 standards.
Another annoying thing is the gfx. When I play MP on FPS games I usually set the gfx quality to the lowest setting to get the best frame rate. When I did this with MW2, BC2 and MoH the visuals are pretty acceptable, specially MW2 has good textures even in very low setting. But in BO the lowest settings is damn ugly which is really disappointing.
As for the gameplay itself, I think its pretty good but can't really comment with this awefully shitty lag. One thing I noticed was the lack of tubers and knifers which is a pleasant surprise . The contract system is also pretty cool IMO.
