I'm surprised. But Holland was really good in the second half.
...
Ghana vs. Uruguay now..
Uruguay is better imho, they will win. And I really like Suarez. That guy is awesome

Suarez almost got sent off, Ghana are leading, and not undeservedly IMO. They play quite well. I've bet on Uruguay but when I seem them play like this, Ghana is the better team, I'd say.
EDIT: Forlan made the equaliser with a very nice free kick though :o .
EDIT 2: Holy most gut-wrenching 15 minutes of football ever.
One thing is certain.
Gyan is the most unhappy and miserable person on the planet at this moment.

SO unlucky for Gyan. He had been the best player on the pitch all game and was so unlucky to miss that penalty.
I thought they deserved it but at least i predicted one result correctly today.

I feel for Gyan though. He must be torn apart by guilt now. Missing the most critical shot your country has ever had and then disappointing your entire continent as being their last hope can't be easy for a 24-year-old.

If he hadn't made that miss there wouldn't have been any shootouts at all, which is exactly what is going through his mind right now

Brazil scoring an own goal in a world cup? Well at least we made history.

Pretty much that's how I feel right now.

Oh that really wasn't Brazil scoring in there own goal, the ball skimmed the guy, imo it's still a goal delivered by the Dutch.
But yeah, pretty surprising result.

I hope Argentina owns Germany 10 times. But then, the Germans always have their luck that they win in the final seconds of the match...

Good first half for the Germans.
Both defences look a bit shakey though...

Germany are playing some of the most disgustingly effective defensive football I have ever seen.
The same tactic seems to have undone England and now Argentina; defend hard and then counter quick.
Their midfield seems to reside in their own box for most of the game, and then their offense consits of a quick cross across the goal from the left to the right and then a flick in. I really hate it, it's boring football frankly, its the same thing over and over again, and yet it works, unfortunately.
Well done Germany, but fuck me, get a new tactic before you bore me to death.
At least England got a goal(s) in.

Like that one famous English football player once said: "Football is a game where 22 men run around the field and the Germans win."
4 nil though, I pity the Argentinians.

^^ How so?
Surely it doesn't matter how they play? Should it not be all about how you play?

Been that way long before most of us were born. You don't question tradition.
For instance the Argentine press were making fun that we lost and today our own press reacted in a charismatic manner to their defeat. Now the media of both countries will throw pies at one another until football fever cools down or until our next match against one another.

I don't mind losing ten pounds as much as I do the prospect of what might happen though. With Spain's epically boring match (except the two missed penalties which apparently hasn't happened since 1930) the chances of them holding up against Germany are slim, so if we beat Uruguay, we're up against Germany in the World Cup final. With the weight of having to save the world from a German victory, I don't think I could bear to watch the match

Argetina loss = Brazilian victory!

Did you actually celebrate that?

There were drums, beer, fireworks and girls dancing. Almost as if Brazil was playing.
They were probably celebrating in their own manner too when we lost. I assume by doing the tango and men letting their hair grow long like teenage girls.
Serious business.
