These changes were minor, KV series, T-28 and many other had many differencies in armor protection, little different suspension or transmission, hatches etc. etc.. But still it was the same chassis, only modified. Pz.IV A and H have also different armoring and differencies in design, but still they had the same chassis.

The chassis is not the same mate. The layout of everything in and on the chassis is not the same. On the outside it may look the same, but the specs and the interior are different, i.e., not the same.

Other tanks that were given upgrades throughout the war kept the same name, or same base name, such as: KV-1/KV-2, IS-1/IS-2 (IS-3 was a completely different hull design) Pz. IV, T-34 (57, 76, 85), and the list goes on. The Sherman is a special case, because it had such extensive variations to its hull, suspension, turret, cannon, and other essential running gear. Some variants were known as something completely different (insert M7 Priest and Firefly), even though they were based on the Sherman hull.

M7 Priests started as modified M3 Lee/Grants to gain a lower silhouette, but during their production cycle, the M7 started to have much more in common with the M4 Sherman.

If I could draw, sketch, or model, I would. Alas, I can not. Shame, because I have a few ideas for a heavy tank.

New patch is out, the only thing they added was that they gave all the players the Beta-tester reward tank for people to try out before the game launches in 10 days.

Might as well give that little Sherman a drive. :|

The M4A2E4 was only given to those who tested WoT during the closed beta stages. A way to tell if you get the tank is to check the World of Tanks forum and look to see what group you're in. If it says "beta tester", you should get the tank. Also, I believe only those on the North American server got the Sherman. I'm actually looking forward to the little tank. Yes, I believe we got jipped a bit, but, meh....it's a free tank that makes tons of money. On the bright side I have to complete Sherman collection, minus the Jumbo. D8

I'm actually looking forward to some of the French tanks. However, the French won't be coming until a few months after release, I guess we'll have to wait a while until the French are liberated. D8

Now THAT is some delicious info. I bet all that will reappear in a Newsletter soon.

Also:

Quote

Closed beta testers (as well as those players with 1000 or more battles under their belt) will be rewarded with an M4A2E4 tank to acknowledge their contribution to the game's development.

Hey! Awesome! I'm not a closed Beta player (I got a closed Beta key, but didn't bother to start playing till 2 weeks after it opened up D8), but I've got 2950 battles under my belt so I'm gonna get a mediocre (but free) tank + tank slot (probably the more important thing).

Nah. I've just grown fond of the Sherman because it makes credits and experience like no one's business in World of Tanks.

Does that apply to the Easy 8 as well? I was quite fond of the normal Sherman, and I did pretty good with it, however, I never bothered going to the Easy 8 because I completely lost interest in the US medium branch (actually, the entire US tree altogether).

So is it worthwhile? If I were to go to the Easy 8, I'd probably stop there and not invest any time into higher (money losing) tiers.

Easy 8 is really worth it, the best US medium tank right behind Pershing. If you dont have enough free exps to skip T20 and T23 directly to Pershing, stay on Easy 8. In one battle aI was able to defeat with it fully upgraded T-44 without any significal damge. Actually I wasnt hit by T-44 at all, only ricochets or non-penetrations, only IS-3 damaged me before being destroyed. So it is really worth it.

I love my Easy 8. And yes, what I've stated does apply to the Easy 8, however, not in exactly the same way. To make money in the Easy 8, you must remember a few things. Though you have a little more armour than the M4, it's still paper thin when compared to the guns other tanks mount in tier 6. The Easy 8 is, however, extremely agile and quick. The M1A2 76mm is fast firing and you can really rack up the damage on enemy tanks. In tiered matches, and even in games where there is a few tier 7 or 8 tanks, the Easy 8 can have a field day. Even if you die in the Easy 8, you won't lose money and if you've gotten a few shots off on some higher tier heavy tanks, you'll bring in loads of cash.

Here's the stats I got from a game two days ago:

If I do get World of Tanks, getting the Easy 8 is one of my top priorities.

That's the AMX-40 with the upgraded turret.

Now that you mention it Destiny, it does look like an RA1 Light tank.

RA1 light tank is based on M2 Bradley, APB RA1 light tank is based on M60 Patton, r any of its variants. This is just a piece of can.

If you go by the cameos, then sure, the RA1 light tank is a Bradley. However, if you look at the tank in game, it has a dome turret and rounded rectangle hull, just like the AMX-40. :duh:
