Also, a few observations:
- Looks like equippable grenades are back (as opposed to their use being bound to a single button)
- You're finally able to vault over obstacles (and with some nice, unique animations rather than your weapon merely disappearing)

I was pretty glad the player didn't kill the dude, because he had that...face...pitiful face. I know I shouldn't be talking about morals and stuff in a WARGAME but...heh.

Patrick Bach, from DICE, the developers of the Battlefield series, certainly knows the way to a PC gamer's heart: tell them that, for once, the PC version of a game won't be a crummy port, but will be the glorious, lead platform.
In an "interview" with Nvidia, Bach is asked - without any self interest at all, of course - by the graphics card manufacturer whether console games are holding PC games back. And Bach lets fly.
"Yes, absolutely", he says. "That's the biggest problem we have today. Most games are actually still based on the same core idea that the consoles are your focus, the superior platform or something. I don't know why. That was the truth 5 years ago, but the world has moved on."
"PCs are way more powerful than the consoles today and there are actually almost zero games out there that actually use the benefits of this. So for our target of what we want to hit, we are now using the more powerful platform to try and prove what we see gaming being in the future rather than using the lowest common denominator, instead of developing it for the consoles and then just adding higher resolution textures and anti-aliasing for the PC version."
"We're [doing] it the other way around, we start with the highest-end technology that we can come up with and then scale it back to the consoles."
That'll sound a little snooty to console owners, but then, for once they can take a back seat. PC owners have been getting the shaft for years now when it comes to ports of major console games, whether it be poor customisation options, a lack of DLC, delayed release dates or no release dates at all. And all that on a machine which can generally run rings around a PS3 or 360.
It's nice to see the shoe on the other foot for once, even if it is only one shoe on one person for one game.

Sony is expecting PS3 to last 'til 2015. Not sure about Microsoft and Nintendo though.

And since you don't believe you are sick, there can be no cure.

Not quite sure how far they are gonna take it. Looking back at Crysis and Crysis Warhead, it is still one of the leading game in graphics. With custom config, they do look godly. But need to remember how much people moaned about when Crysis launched with its requirements and how people not able to play DX10+ only games because they are still running a 10 years old OS.
If they dared to take the risk, it should be awesome. If not, I am afraid that is just another marketing buff, saying what PC gamers wanted to hear.

At one point it outsold the PS3 . However, I don't think the PS3 would have that legendary status. Are games released for the PS2 even now?

Even then it looks nothing like Karkand (yes, they stated it's just the 'palette', but it seems a little stupid to advertise a major selling point with something that isn't what they're actually selling).

17 minute feature on BF3, some new footage to feast your eyes on. Alongside that presenter
Also, I made a little error in my previous post confusing a piece of concept art as a screenshot. Well, here's an actual one from Karkand

It manages to be 17 minutes long but gives out as little information as possible.

Some observations:
- Possibility of 5+ man squads (4 players listed in bottom corner + you)
- That star symbol indicates possible squad leader (can also be seen on the enemy's name in the knife fight)
- Engineers/Medics with M4/M16 (though you can see a medic at the start with an M249 )
- Percentage above your ammo count - seems to be a health bar that doesn't instantly regenerate
- A "suppress bonus" worth 10 points
