Alien invasion movie that looks cool but unimaginative, flying over that certain city (and exactly that certain building as well) in the trailer... I haven't researched whether the forgers of this film are related to Independence Day in any way but it wouldn't surprise me at all...

The premise as it stands is exactly the same as it was with Independence Day so yeah up until there and no further.

The movie is made by those guys who made AvP: Requiem. In other words, that's a bad legacy to come from. This is also an independent movie rather than your normal blockbuster. That may put up doubts on the special effects department regarding budget but the makers actually own their own Special Effects studio since they finished AvP and they also worked on the effects for Avatar, so yeah I think the effects will be good, now a nice story.
