I do not use the net for much of my info. I've got a huge collection of WWII books. Must I use a camera to show you guys?

My fav fighter is hard to decide, but I've always had a place in my heart for the P-40

Only because of the tactics used that maximized the areas in which they were superior to the Japanese planes.

Allstarz, might I politely ask you to please, for once, shut up about your damn technical crap that absolutely nobody is going to pay any mind to due to the fact that favorite aircraft are not always decided on factors such as maneuverability, speed, and armament.

like how the PBY-5 Catalina is a favorite of mine and it is not the best plane of the war by a longshot. But its still cool.

The PBY Catalina was a useful little plane in the Battle of the Atlantic. It had long range, and the ability to carry quite a few munitions.

I think its role in the Pacific was pretty effective too. Very useful for pilot rescue, patrol (Midway and Hawaii), ASW operations, transport, etc.

Not as much as transport. They had the Dakota for that.

The Berkut is a technology demonstrator, and it was not even considered for series production.

yes... i know that it's a tech demonstrator... but, what will happen if the russians make another plane based upon the data the berkut has collected? =p i think total pawnage of the raptor... and remember, the berkut is supposed to be stealthy too... or am i mistaken? still, the thing that made the berkut looks cool is its wings...
