It's bullshit, but I can wait those couple of days. I just hope I won't run into any random spoilers...
EDIT: you lot are going to hate me so much now. Seems Space Marine has been unlocked in the Netherlands. Time to kill some orks 8| :/

Tried the demo and about my only issue so far is a bit of slowness with the framerate, turned off a few options and hope I get it better when I try it again later.

Being about 20 minutes into the campaign and being objective, I'd say it is fair(ish). However, that isn't my final score which I'll let you know once I've completed it.

I'd say that Storywise, the campaign is meh. A bunch of orks invade and you are sent to clear them out. On top of that there are Servo Skulls that tells you stories about what has happened since the invasion.

Gameplaywise, It's the most awesome thing I have ever played in my entire life. Jetpacking into a horde of Orks or Heterics to stun them, and then procceding to bash them sensless with a Thunder Hammer just have the feeling of awesome. Granted that it does get abit tricky when Chaos joins the fray, but not enough to make bashing someones face in with a Thunder Hammer and/or Power Axe lose it's awesomeness.

Multiplayer is a pain in the arse to begin with. First, it took me about 30 minutes for the worthless matchmaking to put me in a game ( >:(), and when I did join a game I was crushed by everyone because I was a beginner whilst they all had perks and better weapons. It gets better though, when you unlock all the classes (You only start with Tactical Marine unlocked) and the customization options + the few first perks, you are more or less outfitted for battle. There are only 5 maps and 2 game modes though, and it does get boring to play the same maps after a while. Hopefully some new maps will arrive with the Co-Op DLC next month.

I totally agree with Liten about the campaign, or rather the plot to be more precise. You know exactly what is going to happen from the start, but this is 40k, there is only so much they can put in that will appeal to the "masses". The campaign was fun to play when you get into the action, but, oh my, is there a fuckton of just walking from A to B 8|. It actually gets a little annoying after a while....

But once you do get into the action, it's totally worth it. And then the campaign is nothing compared to the pace of the multiplayer game. Just. So. Much. Win. Gameplay is on a totally unreal scale. Between the Assualt Marines/Raptors flying all over the place and landing on your head, you have to dodge heavy bolters spitting death and huge balls of splash damage plasma landing near you. I was worried about the atmosphere of this game from the demo. I am NOT disappoint.

I will state that I am beginning to lose my patience with the clusterfuck of a P2P service that they have managed to make even more shit than Infinite Wank Net. I found 33 games earlier this evening and it took 15 mins to get me in 1!! The games only last 10 mins?!?! That, and the fact that I would estimate that over 50% of my deaths have been due to lag, it leads to a very frustrating experience. There is also a lot of talk about some lag abuses as well, which is something I had hoped that this game might have side stepped. Also, it's really very difficult to time a ground pound from 80' up when your target is actually 20' away and hiding around a corner... :P

That aside, if there are people out thinking about this game, I would recommend it without hesitation.

So, I figured I'd spread the word to those who don't know yet/aren't looking for it: Co-Op will arrive on Tuesday the 25th this month.

Better late then never I guess, lets hope they bring some more maps for the regular MP with it.

So now Exterminatus is here and with the annoucement that further DLC will be available in December, can I interest any of you to consider this game?!?

Whilst it has it's "issues" it's still an awesome game. There are plenty of 40K fans here that would really enjoy it.

Well, as soon as my new pc gets up and running I'll start playing it.

Still, I also have to play BF3, will have to mix and match.

No, once your new PC is up and running all you do is go to bed :duh:

I am going to keep plugging this as this game deserves some more recognition imo. Anyway, new DLC armour packs have been announced and will be available when Chaos Unleashed arrives in December. Despite the fact that the Alpha skin looks a little 'odd' I have to admit I like them all.

Well, not my fault that you only log on late in the evening. Or when I have to get up early in the morning.

Good work. Might be able to have regular numbers for Exterminatus and, as Liten has suggested, a full team for PvP. D:D

Now I just need to get my sodding microphone working. :cone:

Get your mic working then you dirty old man. It won't arrive for a few days though, so I wouldn't expect anything until beginning of next week unless the postie is exceptionally quick.

You lot are going to drive an ole' Greenskin like me to want to give up me WAAAGH! (only a little bit though :P )

I have a little bit of an issue with the Alpha Legion and Legion of the Damned skins though. Mostly because I'm not used to seeing completely different Astartes helmets. The main reason for me disliking the LotD's helmet is because it looks like one a Chaplain would wear, not a frontline grunt.

So bought it, started on Hard difficulty, walked through it at double-quick speed (completed the campaign in 5+hrs). At the end of the day, the hard on this game feels like the easy on most others (maul things with almost no regard for your health, step out, regenerate it, repeat, shoot a few things, find a better gun, repeat, engage in pre-determined events, repeat etc). It's not difficult. At all. Even the end boss battle was a piece of piss, and frankly when engaging a Chaos Space Marine I didn't really like the concept of 'blast him with a lascannon, walk up, execute him by ramming your power axe into his midriff /end CSM'

That said, there is undeniably SO much fun to be had in this game. The mauling is what's epic, and if you like WH40K and aren't tired of the orks and chaos always being the bad guys then this is going to be right up your street. It's just... Fun. With a capital F. Bit mindless, bit unlikely you're going to die once you realise you can chain stuns into your attack sequences, you can dodge anything with a roll, and that grenades don't go very far. But still. So much fun. And I'd bet my life the Exterminatus will provide no end to the shits and giggles once the people who persuaded me into getting the game get online...

The campaign was always going to be rather bland. It's not in Relic's nature to make a game, predominantly for the console market, and have a world class plot or hugely dynamic combat scenario in SP. That said, what it lacks in complexity and difficulty it does make up for it in sheer bloody fun. Tbh they could've improved it dramatically by removing 90% of the walking :/

I'll be around tonight mate. We just need to get Dauth available and one of Liten, Brad or Squig for some decent Exterminatus. 8|
