After years in production...
...Situation Zero Makes it's first, and last release.

A lot of things have happened these past few years.

It all started with a great man and his dream. His dream to make the greatest ZH mod, the world had ever seen. This dream was no small feat, it was a tremendous undertaking, an undertaking, dwarfed only by the man's great ambition. His project inspired and captivated many members of the community, as no-one had ever seen anything like it before. It came to a point where it seemed the man would "rule the world", with his great vision.

Unfortunately, his dream was short lived. Killed by a horrible chain reaction of events, started by a simple mistake. No-one saw it coming. No-one could stop it.

However the world moves on, and even though it is largely unfinished, this dream is too big to just be locked up and ignored.

On behalf of Fincer and the SZ Team, we hope you will enjoy the dream as much as we enjoyed brining it into reality.

Thank you and goodbye.

Can't really say, but we did everything we could to stop it.

Unfortunately we failed.

Soul you scare the hell out of me, more so than Lizzie.

I've been given a Bob coin from Mr. Bob, a life time supply of cookies from Blonde-Unknown, some Internet Chocolate from the Full Throttle mod team, and some Assorted Weapons from Høbbesy.

The fact that it is not Fincer posting here for this release is signing for the conflict that went behind closed doors. Seeing how many people were involved, I recall only a bitter story.

Yeah, to be honest there was just so much drama it could've been made into a novel or some soap-opera.

I wouldn't say there was much of a conflict to be fair, the project just pretty much started (and ended) in a state of flux, primarily brought on by the fact Fincer went off and joined the army - the lines of communication were cut, and SZ ended up like a headless snake. The team did what they could, but with little communication and/or ideas as to how to continue the mod as-per Fincer's wishes - which I think everyone could hold their hands up and say was got wrong several times, thus the arrival/departure of many-a team member.

All-in-all, the SZ team did good with what they had, it was just a shame it never bore fruit as people would have wanted it to.

I played a few games of SZ and I must say it is quite good.

However - which is a shame because this is the last release - there are quite a few points where it could be way better.

1) Models. Sadly this is SZ's biggest weakness. Most models are quite ok, but they aren't good enough to compete with other high-quality mods.

2) Sounds. While most of the new sounds are a big improvement, some (especially the ambient sounds) are pretty annoying.

3) Water. Could be a bug on my PC, but the water on the shellmap looks ugly.

SZ is a very good mod, but it still needs work.

I thought the visual quality of the mod was great , just the gameplay needed Tons of work

Also, I would like to point out that even though SZ is dead Frontlines (basically what SZ would have been) is still alive.

EDIT: Added new download mirror from Strategy Informer
