Friends, forumites, and lurkers. Today marks a very sad day. Canadian funny man Leslie Nielsen has died from complications caused by pneumonia. He was 84.

Yes. It saddens me to a great degree that one of my favorite actors and comedians have passed away...

Such a shame, I'm surprised that pneumonia was what got him. He was still doing heaps of lead roles in a bunch of recent movies, he was incredibly sprightly for an 80 year old.

Very sad to see him go - I laughed my arse off at his movies always...

It's a damn shame he died, but he lived a good life and got lots of laughs. May he rest in peace.

A Canadian export that we all loved
(no offence to the cannuks!)
Great actor-turned-comedian who will not be replaced.

If ever I need a laugh, Airplane immediately gets put on. Love that film, and that man, to bits. Leslie:

Such a shame... easily the best comedy actor out there. He will be sorely missed.
Leslie, I just want to tell you, good luck, we're all counting on you.
RIP.

RIP Leslie Nielsen, amazing actor and comedian.
Airplane is quite possibly the funniest film I've ever seen.
He will be sorely missed.
