Seriously, I wish the shareholders from EA had a fucking brain between them, ME2 was a success (Though I don't think as good as ME1) you should be happy it's a success and stick with it. All this talk about getting the COD crowd, never going to happen. The problem is that the majority of the COD crowd aren't really gamers, they only play COD and will not behave in a gamer way. Gamers actively seek out and read as much information as possible on games before purchase, without spoilers anyway. This means that if a games primary audience is gamers AKA DA - And DA2 is bad, they're going to lose alot of custom, at the same time trying to attract people who care only for COD is a futile gesture. COD gamers will only by COD and they wouldn't give two shits if the game got the worst reviews in history. Thats not to say all COD players are such, but a large majority are.

Bioware doesn't, EA and its greedy fucking idiotic shareholders do.
- Oh and heres my edited version of the article
According to EA's top man, the publisher is a huge believer in the Mass Effect franchise.
It came to light yesterday that Mass Effect 3 would not be coming out at the end of this year as was originally planned, and had slipped into early 2012. It seems now that part of that delay is down to EA and BioWare removing key elements of the game to appeal to morons who don't like depth.
Speaking during a conference call for investors, EA CEO John Riccitiello said that BioWare was making the game easier and simpler, while reducing it's length, complexity and overall sense of purpose to appeal to the lowest common denominator. This effort, he said, would put the game in a genre that was "equivalent to boring as fuck corridor shooter-meets- terribly dull simple RPG." He said that EA's share holders are a huge believer in exploiting the shit out of the franchise, while removing any enjoyment for the people who originally played the franchise.
This news has not gone down well in some quarters, with some already accusing EA of "dumbing down" the game, before it even comes out. The assumption seems to be that BioWare would focus on the shooter gameplay, and let the RPG elements fall by the wayside. It's important to remember, however, that this was a comment intended for investors, not gamers, so is undoubtedly lacking in context and detail. Although the same was said of Dragon Age 2 and that was a crock of horseshit.
BioWare's Casey Hudson may have previously stated that the combat in Mass Effect 3 would be the best in the series, but that definately means it will come from the expense RPG side. With more than seven months to go before the game comes out, it's probably best to look at Biowares previous effort Dragon Age 2, as this gives you a good example of the direction the game is going.
