Ok I got a pamphlet at MOA, a book-sized one. And so far I've been enticed to decide what my laptop I'm going to get when I finish high school.

The pamphlet is from MSI and I'm picking one from the G-series.

Current Lead: GE700(MSI)
According to it:
Intel i5 Processor
-i5 460M 2.53Ghz
-HM55 Express Chipset
-MSI Wireless 802.11BGN
ATi Radeon....ah nuts
Switchable Graphics
17.3" HD Screen....
2GB DDR3 Memory
320GB Hard Drive(720 rpm)
Super-multi(?) DVD+RW Drive
HD Webcam, HDMI(?), 3 x USB 2.0
2 HD speakers....will I care about this?
6-cell battery and a free MSI Bag
Oh and any DOS of my choice(going to be XP Prof.), well since it says 'Free DOS'...I guess
Price: P49,995

Other Factor- programs I plan on installing
Cnc GenZH(bare minimum)
My other games
KGB Archiver
WinRAR
Auslogics Defrag
Unlocker
Some anti-virus
Something for torrents
Photoshop
YT Downloader
Other utilities
Spoiler

Some other stuff....ehh...

Well now I'm asking if is there anything wrong, if there's a better alternative within metro manila. What else, I'm not really sure if I would regret this in the future. I'm too poor-willed to say anything else.

Eh, you really can do better than that, especially at that price.

2gb is really low end for memory these days, you should aim for at least 4gb.
320gb is a rather small HDD
17.3" screen, why bother buy a laptop if you want something this big. If you're going for a laptop don't go larger than 16", otherwise you lose all portability.
I'd also suggest that you may as well go with Windows 7 as well, they'll drop support for XP eventually.

I'll do some searching for you because I think you're getting ripped off.

What is your budget limit?

50k MAX, thanks for the support, well I don't care about the screen anyway. All I want is POWAH and ENDURANCE. Also, my sis is using 7 as well and she's doing fine but I don't think it has compatibility with my stuff.

That's because he's there to sell, not to you a favor. I personally NEVER trust salesmen.
Also technically FreeDOS is a valid OS, but it's just that the only thing you can use it for is basic MS-DOS commands, so it's as useless as a PC without OS.

Also I have no ideas of which websites you can buy from, but try looking for the Toshiba Satellite L670-1DG, it should have a price close to the Samsung's one and it's 17" with a better graphic card.

Prices are all backwards there, for some reason. I wouldn't trust local prices as a judge of cost, most of the ASUS stuff costs way more there than it does here for some reason.

It was near impossible to find (up to date) Toshibas when I searched, considering they're my second choice after ASUS.
